As Sloan recommends above, checking out the auction end time can pay dividends. I picked up a 1950s Series 7 Arne Jacobsen office chair - nickel plated wire pedestal base with castors for £50 - it ended 5 minutes into the London Olympics opening ceremony and a mint Barbour Solway zipper two...
Here's a thought - Spiewak made this jacket in the early 60s. I wonder if there was an earlier model circa 1955, with the same dark lining maybe with an elasticated waist and a slightly different pocket detail and a label that looked like a Mcgregor label? - or maybe the wardrobe department made...
If anyone doubts that JamesDean wore a McGregor Antifreeze in Rebel, can I suggest that they do the same as creebobby suggested above and buy the DVD of Rebel Without a Cause and go forward a frame at a time in the scene where he hands the jacket over to Plato. I have done this too. The label on...
If you are competent with a sewing machine then use wonder tape to position your zipper tape and operate the machine with your hand turning the flywheel slowly and an embroidery foot attached with the feed dogs lowered. This will enable you to find each hole with the needle. This technique will...
If you search on the net for 'how to saddle stitch' and you are careful and patient you will be able to replace a zipper tape using that technique. You'll need two blunt leather needles and an awl of the correct thickness to prevent the holes being stretched Or new ones being made. There are...

Ps it's hard to type with my tongue in my cheek.
Fixing lining is fairly easy. The sides are usually strips with the edges folded under and fixed in with double sided tape first and the base and inside lid last last with shaped cards covered in the lining material either glued or double sided taped.
Vintage luggage can be found at most antique fairs car boots and garage sales for a fraction of the new/reproduction prices shown above. eBay too is a good source but shipping will be relatively expensive as vintage luggage tends to be large and or heavy. I'd advise you to get to Fairs and car...
If you sell anything on eBay you can set a sensible start price to prevent losing it for a silly price. If it doesn't sell re-list with a reduced start price.
Wrangler don't seem to sell their original made in the USA 'Cowboy Cut' jeans in the UK which are mentioned above. They used to sell them under that name and sometimes as Wrangler 'store brands' but all had the specification 13MWZ on the inside label, which I assume means 13 ounce denim as...
