WOW, you CAN speak English! And I've gotten so used to the strings of non seqitors... [I jest in good fun, please take no offense.]
Ah, what could have been, eh?
My dad quit cold turkey in the early 70s and said it was the hardest thing he ever did. Sadly it never occurred to me to ask him about what inspired him to do it. Then again, there a lot of things I neglected to ask him about. I really regret that.
I remember as VERY young child, maybe 4 or...
While I get your point, I would submit that "trying to quit" is in a different boat as it involves an ongoing effort and the distinct possibility of future failure. In that instance trying equates to "so far so good." It's not a matter of either you have or have not quit. While subjective...
I'm not so sure I would agree, though I do enjoy his work.
My issue with Olivier is similar to that I have with Anthony Hopkins. While I enjoy their films I find it difficult to get into them as their characters. I can only seem to see them acting. It's as though I can see them concentrating...
Annoyance du jour, well, a long time annoyance: The reply of "maybe" to the question of "would you like some...?" or "would you like to try...?" usually in regard to food.
Seriously, either you want some or you don't! I'm not going to save any for you while you decide, or I'm not going to make...
There were blue skies and a heck of a lot of birds singing when I was shoveling the driveway Wednesday. Sure gave me hope that Spring is on its way. Either way, I've always thought that once February is done being endured and we hit March, we're in the home stretch.
Yes, Gravy-Lovers all the way! We see ads for Chewy dot com all the time and were VERY surprised that they offer absolutely no savings whatsoever. In fact they are prohibitively more expensive than local sources.
Here too in the Midwest, though the aluminum can aspect is news to me. In our experience it looks to be limited to certain varieties of Fancy Feast, specifically Gravy Lovers Beef and Chicken.
Our Miss Lola (12) seems to have fully recovered from her bout with pancreatitis and has gotten back...
We get snow to one extent or another just about every day. It's what happens in winter. While I like to complain about the sun going away in November and not returning until March, I've come to appreciate the gloomy skies, as clear skies, especially at night, means cold temps.
Ironically...
Speak for yourself. I can complain plenty. The two big storms we had thus far have dumped 2 feet of snow on us each time!
Frankly, I've hated snow ever since I got my driver's license.
Our cat use to like jumping from the bureau to the top of the door. It was funny to watch her get up there the not know what to do. The balancing act was interesting to see. Now that she's older (12) she doesn't climb anymore, but when we do see her doing the math we're quick to intercede.
Mine developed a hole at the top of the pinch too, hence my new hat for Christmas. The new hat is so nice and pristine I'm almost afraid to wear it. I'm in no rush, I don't look like a hobo yet.
Not many (in day to day life) even know what tripe is, and far fewer have ever had it. For me it was one of the comfort foods I spoke of earlier, probably because my grand mother made it - battered and fried, pickled tripe though.
I was quite keen to have the tongue actually, as I had never had it before. I don't mind warm beer at all,. especially if its good beer. Cold destroys flavor when it comes to beer. But if its the thin domestic brand swill, then the colder the better. Not that I taste it. That beer is meant to...
My wife used to make fun of me because every time I went home and indulged in the comfort food of my childhood it seemed to all be viscera of one kind or another.
After college I helped a former professor (an old German gentleman) do some house painting. My reward? Slices of tongue and sharing...
