What advice would you give to your younger selves?

    "don't be like your brother!"

I'm afraid that an audio book would be the only way I'd do fiction, which I otherwise refuse to read.

While I would tend to agree, my issue is that I want more lead time in the directions than GPS voice gives, and often I'll take a turn when I know better that the route being given. It's funny to see the GPS give up at that point. A GPS equipped car can indeed be a godsend when renting a car...

Sad to see it become a crutch though. It seems that few these days have any real sense of direction.

You must never have seen a Liberty Mutual commercial.

Been there. Done that. Similarly uniquely capable.

Annoyance du jour: The strictures that covid has placed on us as a society have, for many of us, given rise to a greater annoyance with the petty quirks of those around us. (Yeah, that's it, its Covid's fault!) One that has risen to the top for me is how a very close friend of the family uses a...

Thank you. I also think parts may have appeared in Reader's Digest way back when, which is probably where I read it.

That reminds me of a story I read somewhere about an archaeological dig taking place some centuries in the future. The dig was uncovering a motel bathroom, if I remember correctly, and the archaeologists were at a loss to under stand what "sanitized for your protection" meant.

I wonder if there's been a study of the effect of caffeinated compost on plants? Good call dumping them out there. Drains are magical things though. Everything you put down them simply disappears!

I know the type. Maybe you should switch to something stronger. I understand Mate might be a more "thrilling" morning beverage for you. Plus you get to drink it in a funky straw and gourd-like vessel that kinda looks like a illicit delivery device. (Explain that to the neighbors!) As for the...

Jeepers Lizzie, don't hold back! Are you really the angry person you always come across as being? Perhaps you should take a moment and do some "mug cradling". The snow isn't going anywhere and will eventually melt away. So too the dog poop. [He closes his eyes and grimaces as if bracing for an...

I think I played that Sousa March (Nobles of the Mystic Shrine) in Highschool! Or was it in college? Either way it was a previous life...

Now THAT'S hilarious - "girthful Caucasians" as "Improved" red men. I'm not sure what to make of the Mummers. While it's very strange that about 10 years ago Mummers "parades" (or are they performances?) from Philadelphia were shown on our local TV (Cleveland), that was the first I had ever...

Just think of the parades you're going to miss! You would have cut quite a dashing figure in the yellow ascot and white web-belt I'm sure.

AMEN! I never even wanted to touch the packs. I distinctly remember having a personal crisis when, after I was driving on my own, my mom sent me to the store to buy cigarettes for her. Having grown up around so much tobacco production as a kid, I could never understand why cigarettes smelled...
