Ambush Bay, chronicles a WWII Marine Raider PBY Philippine insertion; team all zipped but one survivor.
Film captures lingo, emotion, kills and the sudden quiet death of teammates. And the old man reminds me
of a noncom I once knew-he dies first. Others soon follow, bad karma all around and closing. Two remain, then one.
Very, very true to hellish guerilla patrol service.

„Little Odessa“ with Tim Roth, Maximilian Schell, Vanessa Redgrave...
„Twelve Monkeys“ with Bruce Willis, Brad Pitt...
„The Quiet Earth“ with various actors you will probably not know.

Almost anything with Laurence Olivier in it.....

I'm not so sure I would agree, though I do enjoy his work.

My issue with Olivier is similar to that I have with Anthony Hopkins. While I enjoy their films I find it difficult to get into them as their characters. I can only seem to see them acting. It's as though I can see them concentrating on the process of getting every aspect right. I tend to see them and not their character.

Detour. A noir classic featuring Ann Savage. Although its ending seems code mandated script,
which should not have happened; said allowance aside this flick slices clean through the soul right to
the bowels, leaving nothing to imagine but stark reality admirably told.

And Ann Savage as vixen is one hell of a woman, perfectly cast.

To me a great example of this was in watching Rafe Fiennes in "The Dig".....was able to completely forget I was watching Fiennes 'acting'......I was watching the character.
