    Toppers Unite

I've been a bit busy with work lately so I have quite a many pages to catch up on, in the meantime here's my newest contribution to this thread, a trio of unique toppers made for the costume department of a french film company. Heavy and very sturdily made. The two olive green ones are...

    1930's/40's Navy Blue Paragon Fedora 7 1/2, 40's Green Melton Fedora 7 1/4

Next up is the Melton in green. This hat comes with an extremely rare opportunity in that the new owner will be the first one to throw a bash into a 70+ year old open crown. Looks to be unworn and is great condition, there are a few surface pin pricks that could be easily pounced away by one of...

First up is the navy blue Paragon Styles of Distinction Fedora size is 7 1/2, brim measures at 2 3/8 and features a very well done underwelt brim treatment. Fantastic condition, only flaws are some blown stitches on the sweat. Sweatband is still firmly attached and wearable as is. $195 shipped

    The Bowler or Derby Hat

Happy to see this thread still getting some amazing updates, really love the look of the vent on the latest one. Here's my contribution. An old vented grey bowler with a pretty interesting sweatband marking.

Ebay Hats: Victories, Defeats, Gripes & Items of Interest

Swooped in on both of these over the weekend, the first one pictured is an old french dress hat that resembles a homburg without the binding.

    FS: 20's Stetson The Fray 7 1/8

This one was advertised as a size 7 but fits more as a 7 1/8 even though its tagged as a 7 1/4, and has never fit me quite right even with padding so i'm passing it on. In fantastic condition, no mothing or blown stitches on the sweatband. $150 shipped.

Ebay Hats: Victories, Defeats, Gripes & Items of Interest

Looked like plum in the photo's. Ended up being a light brown with a definite purple undertone with a bronze binding and ribbon. Caxton made a hell of a hat.

Ebay Hats: Victories, Defeats, Gripes & Items of Interest

I saw a Stetson Three Way in 6 7/8 sell for $300. It's pretty amazing to see smaller hats getting such fierce bidding action. There are still deals to be had though. Thanks to Moon, I saw this great Caxton.

    Pre- 1940s Stetson dress hats.

Very cool to see that the museum even has a great little Stetson hiding in there. I think this will be my oldest Stetson.

    FS: 30's/40's Stetson long hair 7 1/4, 30's Brooks Brothers Fedora 7 1/4, Art Fawcett Custom 7

Next is the Stetson long hair, felt is in great shape with no mothing. This one was made for the u.k. market so the tagged size 7 is misleading. Fits closer to a loose 7 1/8 - 7 1/4 Would definitely benefit from a reblock and a new ribbon. $45 shipped.

Ebay Hats: Victories, Defeats, Gripes & Items of Interest

I'm guessing the more modest brim proportions is what lead to me being the only bidder on this one...

Thank you for the info Alan. A shame our current political caucuses and events dont provide such marvelous souvenirs.
