What Jacket Are You Wearing Today?

Very very cool man, welcome. I also have an old vintage LL Bean g1 in goatskin that I cherish. I got it for 35 bucks, and the knits are a little tattered and the leather squeeks like hell but besides that it’s a wonderful jacket and one of very few goatskin jackets that’s seen enough use to...

How many new jackets do you have coming (and how many potential ones)?

Any time my friend. Also make sure you protect the hardware from the dye, it will even dye the metal though I’m sure you could remove it later with some alcohol or acetone.

    Steve McColgan A2 Review Photos

That would be due to low cut armholes. To alleviate this problem you should purchase jackets with higher cut armholes, which feel less comfortable at first due to the leather sort of digging into your armpits, but really you get used to it and it’s only annoying initially. It also greatly...

How many new jackets do you have coming (and how many potential ones)?

Jonesy, yes the stuff is called “Resolene”. My autocorrect changed it to redolent and by the time i saw my mistake I could no longer edit the post.

What a bizarre thing to say to a person.

Too easy. “I can’t wait for my bootlegger to get here” See, we millennials are good for something after all...

Vintage Taubers Horsehide Café Racer- (Weekend Leather Jacket distraction)

I think this one was on eBay for some time no? I was watching it for awhile to see if the price would ever go down, it stayed rock steady at around 1k. Worth every penny but I have a hard time paying big bucks for vintage stuff because they always seem to have some kind of issues other...

The GW sale page. Oh my.

We get it you don’t like Goodwear because they’re expensive and you don’t see any tangible reason for the added cost. Try to relax though, there could be any number of reasons why it’s for sale, and as long as it’s not your money the added costs associated with a Goodwear jacket aren’t really...

What Jacket Are You Wearing Today?

Really he’s already been told to chill with the Korean/trumpian diatribing, so Jonesy you were 100 percent right to politely ask him to refrain.

How many new jackets do you have coming (and how many potential ones)?

Yes monitor I think tape should do fine. Also I misspelled the acrylic sealant from fiebings due to auto correct it’s called “Resolene”.

How many new jackets do you have coming (and how many potential ones)?

I’ve done this before monitor, you’ll only need 2 coats. If you do one coat you will have spots you missed or which have absorbed less dye and those spots get a weird kind of metallic purplish green hue to them rather than pure black. Also the fiebings gives a weird squeaky styrofoam kinda...

    Advice on Aero jacket

Don’t overthink it, leather is incredibly resilient which is why it’s such a utilitarian material. I find that jackets need a treatment after 5-10 years depending on use at the very earliest and often not even then. If you do it more often you’ll have a greasy, heavy jacket with no patina...

My new Real McCoy's Buco J24

Jacket is dope man, absolutely but that tightness across the chest will make it extremely hard to wear zipped up with anything but a t shirt and may get increasingly annoying as time goes on and the novelty fades. It looks to be even tight enough to activate the gussets on the back which is...

Negative comments about your jackets from others

Interestingly mine calls it “jacketing off” whenever she sees me reading the forum. She’s such a sweetheart, appreciates and encourages every one of my purchases and has even bought one or two of my jackets for me. She has great style but I practically have to force her to buy anything for...

First Post: Feedback on New Aero Board Racer Please

Fit looks good but that enormous wind flap really ruins the look in my opinion. Personally I’d probably just have a tailor remove it, they can usually do it relatively cheaply and it would avoid the hassle of postage and waiting for a new one etc. Unless you intend to ride or you just really...

Honestly jonesy you’re basically a jacketnado right now. Love the enthusiasm but I’d give it a rest for a bit.

Buco j type zipper tape color

Those original zippers you have may not last very long. The cotton zipper tape is compromised with age, when stacked against Stus heavy horsehide they’re basically guaranteed to fail at some point. I believe A-1 learned this the hard way with the NOS zips on his diamond Dave j-24 and the...

What Jacket Are You Wearing Today?

Superfluous, it isn’t the angle of the photo that is making the bottom hem look crooked as the angle is literally straight on. I suspect that it’s your posture. I noticed the same thing in photos I took of myself. One shoulder is significantly lower as you can see in the photo, causing the...

My Fidelity Cafe Racer: quality and fit wth photos

I think it’s odd that whenever some guy on here is complaining about a 27” highwayman with 28” sleeves that’s too short for their 5 foot frame, everyone has dozens of recommendations and sympathy for their ridiculously oversized jacket but almost no one is willing to help a brother out when...

What Jacket Are You Wearing Today?

I tend to second this. It’s not that you can’t wear it; you can and should if you want to. It’s just that it looks a little “off” for whatever reason. It could just be that specific make of jacket or it could be the style more generally but to my eye it looks a bit try-hard.
