Getting the Crockett & Jones `Onslow' model in burgundy shell cordovan has been a nagging dream too.
Getting this Vass F last high boot made in shell cordovan (horse leather) is a dream i've had for a while. lt is on my top 5 must haves. l desire this boot badly. l hope l can special order...
Quite nice. l don't really like the colour though [but that's just me]. ls your heal a combination or rubber capped heal? What type of construction was used on your shoos?
Yeah, R.M.Williams are by far the most comfortable shoos i've ever worn. They are a `Goodyear' construction too. The main complaint l have is leather quality. The R.M's have full grain leather on the uppers, but l find the soles are made from very average mid quality leather that wears out...

$930.00 down the drain after only 5 minutes of wear folks. Buy grain corrected shoos at your own risk.

Some Allen Edmonds are definately grain corrected (polished cobbler leather). Grain corrected shoos are horrible because the leather won't absorb any polish, and if you scuff them they will be damaged for life (if you scuff full grain shoos, you can always polish the scuff out, with grain...
Cordovan shoos will have a smooth [slightly] oily feel to them (they have NO grain). The creases are also wider and less sharp than normal calfskin. The leather is also richer looking than ordinary calf.
Study this Cordovan boot below and you'll see what l mean about wide creases...
l tried on a Borrelli cashmere sportscoat the other day and it was a work of art. STUNNING!!! The most beautiful sportscoat i've ever seen. The cashmere was gorgeous. lt was out of my price range  ($5,000 Aust).
Why can't more men wear shoos like us? [huh] Only about 1% of men would wear welted footwear. Shoos tell more about a person than any other piece of clothing. First thing l do [when l see a man] is sneak a peep at his footwear.
All the pictures posted of the longwings here are awesome.
WOW.What brand of shoo are they? Specially made?

Very nice indeed. Are they a full grain or corrected grain leather?
That's one thing which puts me off getting a pair. But l do hope to get a pair one day.
l now regret waxing many of my Santoni's, because it has left unsightly crease lines [even more visible] on the top of the toebox(s). l also suspect that wax has dried the shoos out. l never used to use wax and l never will again. l strongly believe wax ruins your shoos. Best to stick with paste...
l suppose my dream shoos would be:
1. Tony Gaziano bespoke captoes
2. George Cleverley bespoke ankle boots wingtips with a chissel toe.
3. John Lobb Prestige monkstrap model limited edition shoos
4. Kiton shoos with heavy antiquing (not sure of type)
5. Lattanzi norvegese constructed...
Here is a pair of Trickers (top range) l picked up last week. (Click on picks to enlarge)
The sole of an Allen Edmonds Shell cordovan double brogue (Cambridge model....no longer available) on my foot
The sole of a Grenson Masterpiece on my foot. l believe that they are slightly...
Hi Undertaker. Thanks for your kind words. l'm unable to view your picture at the moment (small red cross instead, even when l right click to show the picture) The J & M's i'm talking about are worlds apart from the J & M stuff they sell these days. 12 years ago, The J&M Handmades retailed for...
RTW = ready to wear off the rack shoos. The shoos are largely handmade, but made on a common stock last.
18 spi = stitches per inch on the leather uppers. Very few RTW shoos in the world have this feature. The stitching is very fine indeed.
l am very much a shoo person. l've been in love...
