Ha! yes even if all 8 weights in at 10 lbs, that's still actually only 80 lbs, but likely more than the gutters will see full of water, I would suspect. They are quite new and I specified the heavier type of gutter system, not ever imagining I would be displaying jackets on them one day.
Had a sudden change of weather here in Iowa, gives a great time to introduce a new addition. Here is a Cordovan Ridley in CXL Steerhide that just landed. Thank you to @Carrie @ Thurston Bros. More and better photos to come soon...
Well that i-phone 14 is indeed impressive! I have an SE (11 - I believe) and I like the camera on it a lot.
I picked up my Nikon D750 with the micro lens (manual focus) and shot a few fun little tidbits in the waning sunlight this evening, however are not of a Cafe Racer but rather an Indian...
^^ So I never had a J24. I've had two J23's and this being the second of those. The first one was really basic - no belt, and came with the quilted lining. That I sold on a long time back as it was too warm most of the time.
There have been several members with the J24 however...
Thanks TartuWolf -
I can claim 0% responsibility to the Model E's development. I ordered it over ebay and it's quite a bit too large. It's awaiting a belt repair then it's back into the classifieds.
The Indian Ranger was a custom order via US Aero Stockest Thurston Brothers. You can see...
Been alternating on three jackets that are not quite a perfect fit, but for some darned reason are just so comfortable I cannot seem to take them off.
Cal Leather first (a bit short, great leather and amazing pattern here)
Langlitz Columbia Crossack in Goatskin, also quite a nice pattern...
Ok so here is the update for May 2023. I am back to asking myself, just how many black leather jackets does one need? It does appear that I have 8 currently, and yes that's pretty odd. There is one coming in next week that is not black, but that's a story for another thread/day.
So here they...
Nice jacket, but it deserves more than 2 photos. Nothing of the back at all? Just the front & Tag.
Also I have a vintage Vanson " Size 46" that is more like a 48 I will have back up for sale soon after the belt is repaired. It's an "E" or Highwayman.
So the smell was impregnated into the total jacket, cotton drill lining & leather as well. Very rank smell.
It's gone now. I contacted the seller and they agreed to take the jacket back. They admitted they smelled something in it, but couldn't place the odor and did not disclose it. It's...
So ... an update on this "super heavy" Steerhide Aero zip-sleeve HWM. The smell of mildew was simply awful in this jacket. I tried quite a few days of airing it in my three-season room, widows open of course, with a fan blowing up over the jacket at a medium speed. Still bad even after 5-6...
Very nice jacket at a fantastic price Tony! If I wasn't already swimming in cross-zips, I'd be having you send that a state west. Nice piece for anyone looking...
This Columbia just came in today. Heavy Steerhide (10.25 lbs) and literally un-worn condition, built in 2012.
Just a touch too large, but with a sweatshirt, it's pretty darned close. I would rather have it a bit large than too small (I've had 3 Langlitz like that). I am in the Queue for a...
