A 1.75" belt works good. Much wider, and it starts getting a little too wide. A 2" belt will fit, but you may as well get one made from 12oz leather and hang a few pistol holsters from it. LOL
Same here. I seem to be in the 31-32 range for both Gustin and UB. And as Sloan stated, the UB21 jeans I have are a good bit lower rise than the Gustins.
Same thing happened on one of my pairs, only the smaller fly button, not the main top button. They also sent me replacement buttons. That said, the replacements were a different style, not the originals with the poked through tabs that get pushed flat inside the button. I actually like the...
The UB21s are very wearable once broken in. And honestly, the break-in period wasn't that bad. I bet after only 7 or 8 wears they felt good. One thing I will say, they are also excellent at blocking wind! I've had mine over a year now, and we had some cold, windy days last winter and I'd...
I still wear mine, but the various Gustin jeans get more wear than the UB21. Today my brother and I were out small game hunting with his dog, and we were walking through all kinds of briars and thorn bushes. He had on some rip-stop chaps over his jeans, and all I had on were a pair of the...
This must be the only product LL Bean still makes in the U. S., sadly.
And as was pointed out, they were big in the 80s, with a crowd I never hung out with, so I never really got into them. I'll take my White's and Sorel Dominators any day. :-)
I'm between a 9 1/2 and 10D on the Brannock and I fit a 9 1/2 D in every Red Wing I've tried on. This is wearing a lighter wool sock, not a thin dress sock, and not a big thick wool winter hiking sock. My Amber Harness IRs are a 9 1/2D and I didn't have any discomfort breaking them in.
And...
That's a great jacket! I have one that looks exactly like that. How did you know it's horsehide? The labels are missing in mine, but I don't know if the labels state horsehide or not anyway. Does yours have the fur lining inside the cuffs? Mine is the heaviest leather jacket I own.

wdw,
THANKS! That is exactly what I needed to know. Now if Gustin would offer it in a lighter color, I'm in! I like the black, but for my use I'd prefer "not black". haha!
If I was looking for a waterproof lightweight windbreaker, would you say this is a good choice? In your photos, the fabric appears to be fairly lightweight. Right now all I have is either leather, or a thin plasticy "rain coat" (one of those packable things that is one step above the cheap...
I'm glad it worked out. It does sound like White's kind of egged you on to cause more frustration than needed. What I'm really interested in though, is Baker's doing the repairs. White's makes a big deal out of using the same lasts to do repairs as to originally build the boot. Does this...
You asked them to replace the sole, that is what they did. If you wanted the midsole and welting strip replaced, I'm sure they would do that, for the standard $250 rebuilding price. The uneven edge on the toe is because as the boot is worn and settles, the welting strip will pull down into the...
