Thank you, sir!
And yes, brass hardware goes great with black leather... I like nickel + black better in all-black configurations (black boots, black belt, black shirt, black jacket) Otherwise, I prefer the brass. It's what I think looks so great about Vanson jackets.
Thanks! It's the padded pocket columbia in goat. Jacket fits a lot tighter than it did when I got it back in January. Langlitz is super great to deal with... Outstanding customer service and very kind people.
Thank you for all the very kind words, gents! It is a very busy jacket indeed, many people around here seem to prefer a cafe racer or half belt design. I love the simplicity of my Schott 641HH and Aero Highwayman, but the Perfecto style really speaks to me... That may be because I am a youngster...
Here are the specs:
+J106 in Two Tone FQHH (black + brown, standard pattern with one change: brown epaulettes)
+size 38
+26" sleeve length
+24.5" back length (IMO these jackets are meant to be cut shorter than a cafe racer and I think the length worked out perfectly)
+brown contrast stitching...
First of all, a huge shout out to Carrie and Wade from Thurston Bros. for helping me acquire this bad boy. Their service was excellent, and they answered my sometimes tedious questions without any sign of annoyance. Carrie and Wade, keep up the good work. Your company is one of the best out...
Holy moly! That is one FANTASTIC jacket! Amazing, love the fit and especially the leather! You have convinced me to get one of these in dark seal Vicenza... Looks like we're pretty close weightwise, I'm 5'9" and 155lbs. Judging by your pics, the 38 will fit me perfectly!
I'd like to suggest White's, Wescos or Chippewa's ;) the White's & Wescos will cost you twice as much as the Chippewa's but they're the best boots money can buy. I own a pair of custom 16" Wesco Harness boots, and they're the bomb... These babies can take any abuse. A bit heavy, though. I don't...
I am very well aware of this and I would love to (along with getting a pair of John Lofgren's Engineer Boots) but I cannot possibly justify the cost, and my jacket would probably end up getting stolen in a hostel somewhere. As much as I'd love to bring a leather jacket on my trip, for fear of...
No can do, I'm saving up for a trip 'round the world (leaving either July 2nd or somewhere in December, I'll be gone for a whole year) so I should keep the money where it's at right now: my pocket. Hard as it is, I was craving a pair of White's Bounty Hunters up until a few days ago :(. Life can...
Agreed.. I think you just won the prize for most jackets accumulated in the shortest amount of time... I was once the holder of that cup. Killer collection, mate!
