All right, good luck! What weight are your jeans? They are unsanforised, I take it?
What I did for my presoak, was I just put the jeans on and sat in my bathtub filled with hot water (not much hotter than 35C) for half an hour. I then took 'em off, let them sit in the tub for another hour. I...
Unsanforised denim will shrink in all areas: waist, inseam, knee, crotch... One should always presoak before they start wearing their jeans or before having them hemmed. Here's a good guide on when to do your first wash: http://www.rawrdenim.com/2012/01/when-should-i-wash-my-jeans-a-rough-guide/...
Perfect, wonderful, superb, stunning! You did very well on this one! I have always admired the style from afar, and you have just made a very jealous young bloke out of me. Enjoy!

Schott 141 size 38 with a 21 PTP? My Schott 641HH (which fits one size smaller than the 141) size 36 has a 21 PTP. According to this size chart the PTP on a 141 size 38 is 23".
With a 38" chest measurement, a 21" pit to pit is perfect. Snug, not tight, not loose, room for layering.

I have no experience with shower treatments but I don't think you'll end up shrinking the jacket. Water will get the jacket wet, making it easier for the jacket to mould to your shape. Because of the wrinkling/creasing of the leather, the jacket might end up being shorter (this mainly the case...
There are definitely differences between the two, I won both a CXL steer jacket (4.5oz) and CXL FQHH jacket (3oz). The steer feels a lot waxier and more luscious, is more soft when warmed up and the pull up effect is much more noticeable on the steer than the horse. When comparing the FQHH...
I'm no expert, but I highly doubt there is a significant difference in durability and other properties when comparing horsehide to cowhide. The reason it's believed to be more special and 'better' than cowhide is because there is a certain amount of hype to horsehide. In the end, it comes down...
