The goat is awesome, has a lovely grain and feels very smooth yet tough. I'm exchanging it because I find the PPC is a tad too much for everyday casual wear, and I'm slowly starting to outgrow it. I'm going on a big trip 'round the world in a year and since I'm also visiting the States I figured...
I don't have anything to contribute, yet... (even though my Schott 618 is starting to show some patina on the edges) but I wanted to give a bump to this great thread. Bring on the patina!
Here's a pic of my goatskin Padded Pocket Columbia in goatskin to hold you over...
Going to have it exchanged for a straigt zip Cascade in heavy cowhide (with shoulder pads, western yoke, side straps, shirt style cuffs, 2 inside pockets and either 2 chest pockets or 2 handwarmer pockets)...

Thank you, sir!
I love the front yoke. One of the reasons I went with the zip sleeve HWM. I'm having a Langlitz jacket made with Western front & back yokes, it looks awesome.
Don't exchange all of your leathers for Type III's... And be sure to get some cowboy boots while you're at it ;)
I think the 36 HWM fits the person from the other thread pretty great. Also, Nick, from the side your 38 doesn't look quite that big. Just a little loose, that's all.
A few pics of my 38 when I first got it:
Chest size = 41". Weight = 154lbs. Height = 5'9". Had Aero lengthen the sleeves...
Would you gentlemen care to post some pictures of you in your HWM sized down 2 sizes? I wear a 38 in most of my jackets and with a 38 in my HWM and I think it looks fine. Wonder how it fits when sizing down 2 sizes.
