    What's your Pastime?

I spend much of my time: Reading. Writing. Avoiding 'rithmetic :p. Practicing martial arts. Watching movies. Biking. Jogging. Walking. Blogging. Cooking. And the list goes on...

    Tomorrow is 6-6-6...

I'm just going to bathe in holy water and hold onto a crucifix all day. Nothing fancy.

Do we like sodie pop? What do you like and what do you call it?

Diet sode is worse than normal soda. I won't go into all the reasons, but let's just say I have strong reservations about it.

Do we like sodie pop? What do you like and what do you call it?

I've tried swearing off soda altogether before to cut down on my sugar intake. I've laxed off a bit though, and now I live by a rule of not drinking what I can't see through. I'm down to Sprite or 7Up mostly, and for Americana's sake I might break down and have a root beer once a quarter.

    X-MEN: The Last Stand

I haven't seen it yet, but I've seen quite a few previews and clips, and I am completely on fire to go. Kelsey Grammer is so incredible as Beast, I doubt anyone else could pull it off half as well.

    The verdict on my head.

Lordy! Apparently not enough. I drink a lot of water when I exercise, but not all day. Wow, thanks much for the link!

    The verdict on my head.

Got a call from Dr. Zimmern, and my headaches are what has been termed "vascular headaches." From The National Headache Foundation: "The term vascular headache refers to a group of headache conditions in which blood vessel dilation or swelling is the major component in the production of pain...

    Update on my head.

Hi all. I made it to the doctor yesterday and he scheduled me an MRI for later that afternoon. He used the word aneurysm when describing the worst case scenarios, which had me nervous for most of the afternoon. I went in for the MRI at 4:15, and came out at around 4:35. We were told I...

    Houdini vs David Blaine

He had some liver damage before he ever went under if I recall correctly. Leftovers from his last dumb stunt. I'd much rather watch Houdini than Blaine. Houdini had skill, Blaine uses more "dark arts" type of stuff.

Show Us Your Pedigree! The Heritage Thread.

Hehe, probably so and probably so. I feel like Nic Cage in National Treasure every time I tell that.

Show Us Your Pedigree! The Heritage Thread.

On my father's side, we're British, going back to to 1773-4 during the pre-war unrest in the colonies. My grandfather traced our ancestry to a Captain Benjamin Merrel, who was hung, drawn and quartered, beheaded, and his bowels burned for allowing patriots to escape through his land after a...

    Favorite post-2000 bands?

I love the sounds of U2, Matisyahu, David Crowder*Band, and random songs from different country artists. Right now David Crowder's latest album "A Collision, or 3+4=7" is something I make a point to listen to every day.

    A song for The Lounge...

Maybe I have too much time on my hands, but I re-wrote the words of Toby Keith's song "I Love This Bar" (minus the end verse, which oddly enough wasn't in the lyric set I acquired,) for the lounge. I think it's a fairly good description of how we feel when we log in. We got winners, we got...

    Glamorous Brooding

If you really want to go all the way, turn off everything but a lamp and wear black sunglasses indoors. Then you'll feel like you're in a film noir movie.

    Saw Andre Rieu last night...

Without a doubt the best concert I have ever attended. I left the civic center feeling like I'd never heard real music before. Photos will be up in "The Steamer Trunk" and possibly a video link if anyone wants to see them. What amazed me the most was the energy and pure joy that the...

    Vintage Personae

Well, I often don't have an avenue (and more rarely, the funds) to dress vintage, so my better outfits tend to be more "vintage inspired." With my fedora and British-style shirts, I'm a bit of a throwback to the Golden Era explorers. I was getting a CD autographed by an artist the other day...

Mysterygal Comes to See The Boss

Boss, you just made my day. I was wondering if that camera handled shadow well. And the subject of the photo didn't hurt either. ;)

    Playing outside

I think another part of the problem, aside from the accessibilty off video games, MySpace, AIM, and the like, is social stigma. It's just not cool to go play on the swings when your best friend has an Xbox with Halo II and Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow. I for one, was at the park most of...
