Band rehearsal tonight after work. This newer Dobbs is my primary band lid. I’ve done a lot of gigs with this hat on my noggin and it has a lot of sweat and beer and bar grime on it (and I plan on never cleaning it). Nothing like a black hat in a blues band.

Yeah, you’re right. I think I’ll just clean her up for now and keep it original and pass her along sometime in the future to someone with the right size head. Just too nice and too old to start messing with it. Thanks again!

Thanks much. I might have been unclear though - I meant the sweat band so it would fit. The ribbon is in nice and I think there’s enough material that it can be saved if I do have it sized up. Thanks again!

Just bought this nice camel colored (1940s?) Portis Sterling at an antique store for $30. Needs a good cleaning but overall in good shape. Unfortunately, no size tag and it’s too small for me. Probably a 7 1/8 and I’m a 3/8. So would it be sacrilegious to have my hatter re-band...
