I don't know about comparisons with the UK and US Punk fashions were but yes, here anything went. Granddads stripy pyjamas with Doc Martens(for the fight with the Teds later), bin liners, ripped tights or stockings for the girls, bondage trousers and just about anything to shock so you didn't...
Great you had a good time, me too :)
With ref to the Escape jacket though, I do think it looks fake. Not as bad as those tumbled jackets from the 1980s but like old furniture, you just can't fake Patina. personally I would buy a russet coloured jacket and spray it with dark brown leather dye...
I wondered that too.
Don't know what the Damned play like now, neither RnR or P#nk, you can't be 'Rebel Teens' when you look like you are 50 something.
Funny thing remembering the Teds V P#nk days, I always caught the last train from Southend to Basildon on a Saturday night and got home just in...
Firstly, I have never been, but watched a few on TV and thoroughly enjoyed it.
What I am after is some information on some painted album covers. This is the older type shellac discs in a book type cover.
The Ballets in question feature Swan Lake, The Nutcracker and Les Sylphides . The covers...
A lot P#nk band members were quite good musicians to be honest, only Sid Vicious wasn't worth the vaseline to put in his hair. He was a crap guitarist, even the Pistols told him that.
I did have a soft spot for 'Happy Talk' by the Captain though. Did he do a cover of Nellie the Elephant as well...
Spoke to Denny about this, basically he said 'What smell'. Very true as I worked in a diesel rail yard. When I went for my job interview all I remember was the smell of diesel, a little later I could not smell it. Now just wait till you open a box containing a nice new jacket ;)
Get the wife/girlfriend or even just friend who is handy with a needle and thread to sew some buttons in the right place on a pair of your favourite high waisted trousers?
I wish I had an Aero for the amount of folks who pose using the 'Zombie strangle' look. It's not natural so try a more realistic pose using a prop or get someone to take a picture of you in a car with the door open(does not have to be an old one such as a jeep, a 2016 would be fine ;) or even a...
I checked this jacket out at the pop up shop.
How do you find the arm holes? I found them quite small and tight compared to Aero's Highwayman, though I was wearing a sweat shirt with a T underneath but had to go up to a 46 rather than my normal 42, and the sleeve length was perfect:confused...
Cheers Andrew, I did wonder who DNA tested it as I heard this kind of testing for forensics was quite expensive.
The book I have seen a few times but I guess we all have different levels of interest and this just can't hold my attention for more than about half a page. It is what it , an...
Yes another great condition jacket, very nice and wearable.
What intrigues me more is who on earth paid for DNA testing of things like this and why? the jacket is obviously too old to b a repro and if another same contract jacket was made in horse, would the difference in value made it worth...
That jacket really fits well and the outdoors setting is spot on.
Had a look at these but did not try one on. Not really a G1 guy at the moment, the look comes and goes with me.
As to it's popularity, maybe the A2 can be worn with a far wider range of every day clothing than the G1. Not...
I like to give an honest reply as I feel that I don't take collecting seriously and see the garments as practical wear rather than historical reproduction. I didn't try on many styles, only my interests as a prospective purchase though I took a mental not of things around.
Loved the B3 Roughy...
Well to be honest, some parts not that well. Stitching has come away from around the pockets, wind flap and zip base areas. Just doene a little home maintenance on it, guess the original machinist may have had a bad day.
All the details are there though the shape does come up boxy, I don't know...
Why do you think it may catch fire? If I thought that may be a possibility I don't think I would want to fly it.
Then again if it did and you survived, hang it on the wall of the office and claim some bragging rights :)
Welcome mate :) This is where the contract detail comes in handy as I am sure some are made for a slimmer fit than others. Eastman house jackets are a good stepping stone up to the more WWII accurate cuts of his original makers. Cant really help but my Eastman house jacket does run to an 'Off...
Trevor, If you haven't ordered this yet I would have the inside pocket as Fanch suggests, I have them on mine and not use the outside top, a great feature, better than deleting it but can be awkward to get small things out from.
As for fastening, the standard Talon zips I like rather than the...
