What Hat Are You Wearing Today ?

That is quite a save... nicely done. Thanks Steve... the felt on this one is firm and it holds this shape well. It's a pleasure to wear.

    Turquoise/Native American jewelry

An unusual brass belt buckle by Talawytewa (Morris Robinson) 1900-1987. His hallmark recognizing his ancestors in the Hopi Snake Clan is unique and easily recognizable.

    The Bowler or Derby Hat

I wore this derby today... I posted it back some years ago but maybe worth another look. It is the earliest derby in my collection - late 1890s to early 1900s, unusual for its very deeply scooped curl, wide ribbon without a bow and the visible stitches at the edge of the D'Orsay curl. It fits...

    The Bowler or Derby Hat

Great new additions to the derby thread. Beauty! Also a great hat... I would guess this one to be 1930s to 1940 or so. Is there a paper stiffener to the liner at the crown?

What Hat Are You Wearing Today ?

Like many hat folk I have a lot of derbies. They ranging in age from around 1900 to the derby revival of the 1950s-60s. This is perhaps the oldest... a little out of the ordinary with its deeply scooped brim and wide ribbon with no bow. I find a well fitting derby a joy to wear and nothing cuts...

    Panama Hat Thread

An old (perhaps very old) straw hat constructed of sewn plaits. Taller than a boater and supple/flexible... I don't have more information other than the photos. No store or manufacturer marks other than the heraldry imprinted on the liner. Italian make, perhaps? The size conforms to U.S...

    Post New Hats Here!

I believe this is the first new addition to my hat family this calendar year. I haven't been looking actively but was pointed in the direction of this auction by an overseas hat friend. It's an interesting one... perhaps quite old and doesn't fit the form of the traditional boater. The crown is...

I've found a finger that is happy to wear this old No.8 turquoise ring as the weather turns colder. I've been wearing it a bunch.

    Pre- 1940s Stetson dress hats.

Here's another Stetson dress hat in Clear Nutria Quality. There is a lot I love about this one but as someone who began his career printing on fabric, the quality of the Stetson mark on the silk liner is to me a thing of beauty. It's been posted before but I hope you enjoy seeing it again.
