I now travel and dine out almost exclusively with flat caps and berets. They wear easily, stow easily and generally take the worry out of packing for a trip. I almost always take my hat off in a restaurant setting - my beret rolled in the sleeve of my coat or in my wife's purse. -

It has the ribbon style of a western hat, not Open Road. I think Jared's guess of 1960-ish is a good one. The ticket affixed to the box shows a two digit postal code. Five digit postal codes first came into use in the USA in 1963. I think if you advertise as c. 1960 you will be marketing fairly... -
