Sure Cocker, I will get those measurements for you later today to confirm!
Haha, I got the same reaction when I had my A2 also! I think these vintage designs look pretty great - and it's not like I wear period clothing head to toe, far from it - but somehow she just doesn't seem to "get" them...
Haha, no way! Well there you go, great minds think alike (or something to that effect). :D It's a cracking jacket, I'm really pleased with it. Sadly it hasn't exactly won favour with both my girlfriend ("That jacket is horrible. What's with the offset zip and those weird triangles?") and my...
Hi all,
May I present to you all my latest acquisition - the Pike Brothers B-15 via Aero.
After taking delivery of my absolutely awesome B6, I was keen add another jacket to my collection that I could wear on a more daily basis. I tried the Avi Lthr G1, but sadly it didn't work out and I will...
Indeed Garry - I'm keen to see what your M422a looks like if you go for one! Worth pointing out that there is a stock M422a on Aero's site that may actually be a good fit if we're similar sizes - although it's tagged a size 48, it measures more like a 46. Very handsome looking thing...could be...
Wow, awesome information and pictures guys. Many thanks for sharing all that!
Quite a handsome jacket, the B2 - it wouldn't look out of place today. It does have something of a proto-Ivin feel about it, particularly with the belt. It's a shame more companies don't offer reproductions of it...
All very good points. I do wonder if Avi only acquired an original in a very small size - eg a 38 - and has incorrectly scaled the pattern to fit larger sizes...who knows.
Cockpit ones look like decent jackets, but once I've taken into account the shipping to the UK and the taxes/import fees...
I ordered my Aero B6 slightly longer than other jackets, and I'm glad I did. Usually I would go for a 27/27.5 inch back length on an A2, but I went for a 28 inch back and it looks fine. Because it's a winter jacket, I wanted it just slightly longer to make sure it covered enough of my belt...
Really nice looking jacket you have there...that's the look I wanted! I think I'll probably have to go for a custom order Aero M422a in the future, but I'll leave that for another time.
According to Avi, their jacket is a direct copy of an original L.W. Foster jacket (contract N-383S-20445).
I have found references in certain texts to both a B-1 and B-2 flight jacket - presumably these are very early versions of what would evolve into the B3. Lost Worlds make a version of the B-2, but other than them I cannot find any information on either of these jackets anywhere. Has anybody got...
I'm 6"3, around 220lb. I think the length is okay but it's just the lower body section that's way too tight for me. It really will depend on how you're built - even when I'm at my slimmest, I'm still pretty chunky!
Well, the jacket arrived today. Firstly, it's absolutely awesome for the money - seriously good value. The leather is excellent, the quality of construction feels really solid and the detailing is top notch.
Unfortunately....I won't be keeping it. It's just way too small for me. Argh! And I...
Looking for a B-15 jacket if anyone has one...I'm after the variant that has the two leather triangle tabs attached to the chest.
Ideally I'm looking for one that is slightly longer, although I will consider regular length depending on measurements.
Drop me a message if you have anything of...
Wow, yours looks great. Looks to be a perfect fit...just right. Not too tight, not too loose. Looking forward to seeing mine now!
When they shipped yours, did they provide tracking numbers or not?
That looks brilliant! Wouldn't worry about the fit, it looks great. Sounds cliched, but that leather looks full of character...very nice. A new set of knits and it will do very nicely indeed!
Indeed, I think there was a gap in the market for a mid range repro that isn't just a generic design and makes a good attempt at being faithful to the original - looking at the images of their G1, the attention to detail on it is certainly more than good enough for the money they're asking. The...
Redskin is amazing, and I think one day I will have to get a B3! My only concern is that it might perhaps be too warm...but who cares if it looks as good as yours! ;)
