> 7" slides had been extinct since the end of AMT, forcing a cutdown to 6".
I'd guess Caspian would still make a 6" slide and if asked nicely may be even a 7".
If it were me, I save a ton of $ and find a used 7" Hardballer and start the build by stripping the 7" slide and fitting it to your...
Yancy? Yes Sir. Got the T shirt to prove it ;)
I still build a few guns a year for past customers. This is a new Series 70, Stainless, Colt I did last Fall. BarSto, hard fit barrel, Brown thumb safety and mag button, EGW grip safety, Grider trigger, Hogue G-10 grips, Heinie Straight 8s...
>all that said was "long extractor"
Obviously a typo on someone's part. No such thing as long extractor. Long ejectors have been around since the first Colt Commanders (1950). Used there for the same reason, reliability.
20# recoil springs and 23# mainsprings? All in a 7" gun...
>*Ejector - needs decision; getting contradictory tech advice on long vs short for "magnum" loads
What caliber are you building? And what are your anticipated "magnum? loads? .45 Super and .460 Rowland?
Both have their own issues if you are building a 7" gun for them.
7" Slide?
In the 30...

Amazing tool watch @ any price..
I've owned many fine watches. Still own a few. None give me any more pleasure to wear, much to my surprise, than the homage Milsub with a Seiko Nh35 automatic winding movement. When I started wearing a Rolex in the late '70s, watches of the current price, quality and accuracy of the current...
Here is a fun collection and the original. All of which are great watches. And all the newer versions, those pesky homage versions, are much, much better watches than the original Smith W10
"Developed by famed British clock- and watchmaker Smiths, the W10 was built from the late 1960s through...
History is a fun thing to read.

Setting aside the snob factor of having a modern copy with a brand name attached. Maybe the homage watches are simply a very nice watch made from the high-quality parts that are now available to...
It was finished close to 20 years ago now. One of the most elaborate '73s ever built.

Not sure which museum it is in now. Was once owned by a friend of mine.
The Diaz ivory stocked '66 was a carbine, # 21921...
>A Merwin Hulbert engraved 4th model with original ivory grips and 5 1/2-inch barrel in 44 wcf caliber circa 1880s
Nice gun!
Ivory stocked Winchesters? Take a look at Paul Persinger's '73.
I have working vintage watches from the late 1800s up to 1980s. And a nice "modern" watch as well. I was unaware until recently that there is an entire cottage industry building bespoke watches of every sort with modern and extremely accurate mechanical movements. As well as assortment of...
Two bespoke, homage, mechanical watches. Both of these are based on Sellita COSC-certified movements. A few months ago I had no clue there actually was a cottage industry based solely on building such beautiful, vintage style, and superbly accurate time pieces. Watch making has come a long...
