HAHhhahaha! The unknowing say it is OK, because it is a "dry hot". Me not so much. One of those really hot, uncomfortable, days out on a horse. -

Black in winter when it is cold. White or straw in summer. Temps hit 105F+ here on a regular basis. 115F is not unusual. Sunny here in the high desert, most days, no matter the season. -

Just an FWI for anyone looking for a hat maker that is capable of making a BIG Western hat. Lisa from Top Knot Hats in SILVER LAKE, OR, built a solid 5.5" brim with a 6" crown for me on a Winchester 100% beaver blank. All on a size 7.5" hat block. Most hat makers will tell you it aint... -

New hats are like Christmas come early. I have one coming. 100% beaver. Left Silverlake Or on Friday. Ended up in Seattle over the weekend and is now in Denver. I'm in Boise. I don't have high hopes of seeing it any time soon. I usually have great luck and a lot of faith in the post... -

Off topic some. I always liked JW. And for the most really like his signature movie hats. Although never enough to duplicate any of them. They are JW hats in my mind. Never going to be a hat shape/style I'd wear. But "The Searchers" is one of my least favorite movies even though it does... -
