Agreed. I used to think here's a style, here's my dimensions, make me a jacket. But there is some level of engineering that goes into a jacket that makes it more comfortable/functional. For instance, my 5* Cossack with the CHL, the interior collar behind your neck would not lay flat because of...
Both of those leathers are easy wearing vs CXL, CHL, etc, with the edge going to Masaye although the Horween I think has a tad more character.
Jin and I think Riu? had Masaye that shrank with water, but I've seen them made into bike jackets and not shrink in rain, JL continues to offer it as...
Totally, no more cxl leathers for me anymore, going to choose one of their stock leathers like a 2oz steer or the Masaye. I love my car coat, but the stiffness makes it a chore. Perhaps I'm not man enough for those types of leather.
I got a Maxwell-esque jacket in the pipeline as well. Still haven't finalized which leather yet, which reminds I need to do that...
Back on topic, the patterns and such I think is also personal. Even though the 5* Cossack I got was ultimately unwearable for me due to being too tight and that...
That's the quandary isn't it? The leather is actually great, but there's always the caveat of price. I mean the surcharge to upgrade to a 2mm I'm sure will still be very competitive against the western makers, but as it stands right now it's about 400, so now we're marching upward to perhaps 500...
Lol, as I said, reasonable. And it really is, I don't see the point of it in an area where we don't see snow and it's 70 degrees for most of the year, but now that I know my manlihood is based on the thickness of my jacket, I may need to reconsider.
And just like the horsepower wars, cars will become increasingly useless and not fun besides in extreme conditions.
I don't get the point of this, but to each their own.
Look good, feel good. Feel good, play good. Play good, pay good. If it feels good and it looks good, then do it. No one else should give you a more honest answer than your significant other, but honest does not equal expert. You must know someone who you think dresses well, ask for their opinion...
You should give Shawn your feedback if you haven't already. I imagine it's an easy addition and may be the very tweak that puts this over the top. A black teacore HH with your feedback may give all the high end leathers anxiety.
