Received this used Half-Belt in overdye horsehide from a fellow german lounger today. It’s a rack size M as far as I know. Hard taking decent pictures inside due to lighting but I tried to catch the color as good as I could.
Very interesting leather. Looks great.
I do agree I would want (and even expect) a two-way zipper on a mc jacket of that length. The range of motion on the other hand looks outstanding and it looks like a good fit so I think the lack of side laces does no big harm.
Thanks for the link! Cool jacket but too long in the body for me and also quite close in style zo my perfectly fitting Langlitz Cascade.
Beautiful jacket, that horsehide is straight up gorgeous. One size too small for me unfortunately.
Nothing too biker-ish, other than that I am just feeling the itching again. Since wear my Johnson Leather jackets far more than my Vansons and others, it’s gotta be another Johnson! Horween, Bison, whatever specialty hides, even their regular naked cowhide if it is a nice jacket. Hit me up with...
That back looks messy. I do recall that the bi swing back on my Teamster would look somewhat puffy initially too but in your case it is more than just that, the entire back looks crunched together. Also sleeves are too short. Last, you appear to have an athletic build but the jacket does not...
I cannot recall a single case in which Langlitz let down their customers, the amount of remakes Langlitz must have done to forum members alone is absurdly high, I cannot recall any case in which they would refuse a refund or even refuse a remake and told the buyer to shop elsewhere (which I...
I am 1.78m, 79kg, athletic. 17“ neck, 34“ sleeves in shirts, 39“ chest, 32“ waist. The Size 38 Enfield is a relaxed fit. Wouldn‘t want it any bigger. If the Royal is specced similarily on their website and you measure same as me which on first glance you do, I recommend you size down to 38.
RRL or some Japanese maker. Doesn‘t Real McCoys do a jacket with these pouch pockets? I recall a model called something like Mobster, could be a different maker too..
Pick any midweight hide you like best, they are all in the 2-3 oz range, it shouldn‘t make much of a difference. Lining does more for insulation and warmth than the leather, make sure you pick the thinnest one and definitely no wool.
Thank you everyone. The goatskin is great btw, it has a very luxurish velvetish hand to it, is extremely supple and yet incredibly heavy. I didn‘t weigh it but it is noticably heavier than my Vansons which are all in the 6-6.5 lb range.
I went with their standard quilted lining, nothing fancy...
I plan to do a more detailed review later on, but it feels due I post a few pictures.. in short I contacted Alan last fall about a customized G-1 project. I wanted to try the 4 oz heavy goatskin which @Canuck Panda was talking about and while I know A2/G1 style bomber jackets don‘t get much love...
I did have somewhat of a watch addiction at some point, luckily I am the opposite of Mr Proper, my wrists are so tiny that any watch larger than 39mm on my wrist looks like an UFO landing on a twig. Never owned a Submariner for that reason. I do look a lot at the Tudor Blackbay 54 recently but...
It‘s pointless to measure treatment intervalls by time, you should measure them by time worn. A jacket that only gets worn every other sunday sure won‘t need treatment for a few years. A jacket that is worn daily for hours, subjected to the elements, both water and sun, sure needs treatment...
I have it in storage as I only wear the less noisy Enfield instead these days. Can sell it but will not be able to take measurements for another week orso
