Where to go for specific leather jacket?
For 500 USD the only place to go is overseas. However I would advice you to save up 1k and have it done in the US at Johnson Leather SF. They rebuilt my fathers vintage Belstaff jacket, maintaining the original pattern while also sizing it down and they did a terrific job.- jacketjunkie

Johnsons patterns are great, especially the older biker patterns, but even the new ones still are better than Aeros. New member, starting up a crazy JL 6oz leather jacket order
At 6 oz I would settle for something pliable such as Johnson Leathers bison. I currently try to break in a 4 oz Horween Steerhide and wouldnt want it any thicker, I dont see 6 oz steer- or horsehide ever being comfortable to wear and actually mold to your body. It fits you well and I love the worn in cxl horsehide. This is as good as it gets off the rack if this is the style you are looking for. My plan for this spring is to break in the JL horween petrol steerhide jacket you passed on to me. From where to where did he measure? From delt to delt, like the outside of your shoulders? Or joint to joint? It‘s a huge difference and you should know, else your tailor taken measurements are useless when it comes to translating them to a jacket size.- jacketjunkie

You can gain as much weight as you want and this jacket will still fit.
