25,000 yen more is like $150… that’s a reasonable increase. Yen is super weak at the moment so I’d just go the proxy route whenever possible.
As far as I understand the japanese price charged to resellers abroad is close to the price consumers pay so they are bound to cost more when buying...
As said above, what’s more American than cowboy boots?
Red wing Mocs, engineer boots, harness and packer boots etc are all typically American as well but the cowboy boot is the only one that everybody around the world would immediately associate with the US without thinking twice.
Did you check out Ace Western Belts? Seems to be the go to for the 50s style western belts. I’m sure some member will chime in with those.
East west in the UK stocks a few but they can be mto on Etsy as well. RRL are cool but always a bit of pre distressing, nothing wrong with it obviously...
Unless it’s deadstock a vintage will never feel like a new jacket. At the same time a repro will hardly ever look like an original. It depends what is important for you.
Also, some vintage designs are hard to style without looking costumey and there is where vintage inspired clothing comes in...
It's not so much the ads... those are annoying but a necessary evil, I think we all know and accept that.

It’s a fairly straightforward halfbelt but while I’m not an expert I can tell this is quality. A very fine jacket. Beautiful collar.
Leather condition 8/10. Midweight horsehide. I think it’s a shame this...
Looks a million times better on you!
It’s 23” or so down the back on a 42 so not overly long I would say. Looks less boxy than that Windward though for sure.
Selling this repro of the Appalachian/Sears map pocket cross zip made by Attractions under their Bilt buck label.
New and unworn.
This is made in some seriously thick and heavy brown horsehide with an oily finish. It’s just that good and arguably a much higher quality leather than the...
Ended up buying this as it came as a paste in a tube which I thought was easier to apply than the liquid Brasso:
It works pretty well:
Untreated
Treated
Now just another 15 button snaps and studs to go and 4 zippers….
A few people have ordered from the archive line, I believe also Canuck Panda. They make you the jacket out of the pictures at a decent price it seems. It’s basically a test jacket for them and then it gets added to the main line for a higher price.
Pretty cool NOS
