I had a cadet in Black overdyed Liberty HH. Pretty nice jacket. I only sold it because it was a little tighter than I like but nothing bad to say about it. I waited ~6 months back in 2018 I think.
My 2 cents… there is definitely some hype around Japanese made heritage clothes (not just leather but think denim and boots) but imho this is the results of consistently delivering a product that can’t be found anywhere else… is all coming out of Japan better or even good? Nope… Much of the best...
Latigo is a saddlery type leather from Horween. The one used by Brass is very thick, palpably thicker than the Italian Horsebutt. They are both nice leathers of course. I prefer the Italian Horsebutt personally as it has a shorter break in period.
Still trying to get my engineers pairs down to a reasonable number.
Bought directly from Attractions. Waited 6 months for delivery. Retail for ¥85,800 which is about £550/$750.
It’s the suede version of their famous engineer boots. Top notch quality and imo best silhouette on the market as...
I’m all for reinterpreting classics and i think that if all we had were repros, it’d be pretty boring but… this?! Levi’s vintage clothing?! What a waste of deadstock Cone Mills denim…
They are on it because is a Lee jacket reproduction. The union made tags/buttons are found on many repros made across the world. It’s a little detail that some may care about although clearly that union is (was?) just an American thing.
The funny thing to me is using those buttons outside of...
I’m putting up for sale this pair of Clinch engineer boots on the brand fans favourite CN last.
Double leather sole with cat’s pawn heels and topy.
Size 9US/8.5UK. The leather on these is thick! Not for people with high instep.
These were a special edition for a Japanese shop named Sturdy...
2021 Buco j-24 from The Real McCoy’s. They revisited the pattern making it less slim and more true to the originals:

It’s very nice to look at but not something I could see myself grabbing before going out in the morning. More like a collection piece.
The guy puts out some of the most original designs gotta give him credit for that.
@TheDonEffect : An A2 contract out of production for decades can be reproduced, an original Thedi design currently in production not coming out from Thedi’s workshop can’t be anything else but a knock-off.
There are admittedly some grey areas but the above I think it’s what most people are...
I personally do not seek artisanal exclusivity or small batch production but I hate fake copycat products for all sort of reasons.
There is of course good stuff coming out of China. I can’t see it on Taobao though…
Over 2kg fully insured (say £500)? I don’t think you can do much better than that.
I find that sometimes Parcel Force (still RM group) is marginally more convenient than RM but not a big difference.
It makes a difference of course if you don’t insure and you are ok to gamble a little. It’s...
The Indian ranger seems like it’s got a massive taper and if not of the right length it bunches up. You should’ve probably gone shorter. I don’t think it looks bad, but i find it personally uncomfortable when there’s that bunching up at the hips.
In the chart above from @Marc mndt i recognise C...
