    That looks fantastic. You will love the deerskin. I don't doubt that it will be the go to jacket...it really wears like a sweatshirt so comfortable. I still kick myself for not purchasing one of the Bootleggers one last year for under $700 and another recently but money money.

    Mink oil will eventually rot the cotton stitching on jackets or shoes, same as Neatsfoot oil. I wouldn't use that.

    I would say that only a very good leatherworker should attempt it. They have to match every stitch hole in the leather in order to do it right. I have seen so many wonky jobs I wouldn’t trust anyone but a real expert who has good feedback.

    As @Marc mndt says used the the neutral cream. It will feed the leather, darken the dry spots but it will not get rid of the patina completely.     It clearly shows. Being able to raise your arm like that with the jacket staying in place and the sleeve not riding up is a proper fit. Same experience with Lewis Leathers for example. Some patterns are just better done than others.
