That looks fantastic. You will love the deerskin. I don't doubt that it will be the go to jacket...it really wears like a sweatshirt so comfortable.

I would say that only a very good leatherworker should attempt it. They have to match every stitch hole in the leather in order to do it right.
I have seen so many wonky jobs I wouldn’t trust anyone but a real expert who has good feedback.
As @Marc mndt says used the the neutral cream. It will feed the leather, darken the dry spots but it will not get rid of the patina completely.
The coloured ones can rub off and you don’t want to be staining stuff. In shoes it’s very easy to brush off the excess and only the trousers cuff can...
