I think it's a design gimmick. Luxorious frivolity if you ask me. Will work as fashion boots if only worn on certain occasions where you need to be chique. For people in a league who - should a stain occure - throw them away and take another pair of those. Just to show they can. I belong to the...
Oh come on lads, that's a steal! I am really sad, that I am too big for this N-1. You can pay roughly $1300 right now in Germany for this. It's one of the best and highest end N-1 repros existing. 350 will normally only get you a Pike Brothers.
You can look over there in the other thread (The Deck Jacket Thread). among the latest posts is Mumpy's RMC where he shows where the sleeve ends at his.
I don't wanna talk into your tailors calculation. My tailor is 85 years old and just continues work for fun. He opened the whole sleeve up to the elbow, tapered it, shortened it, re-did the double stitch. This was a lot more work. He wanted 15 $. I gave him 50 $ and he was glad to give it to his...
This is a valuable video for all who think about if they could let their sleeves done on their N-1 without messing it up.
Looks she does not cut off something from the outer material, just tucks it under and fix it with a seam. So this can later be undone if it is going to be sold to someone...
She knows what she is doing. That's how my tailor did it, too. Except, he tapered the sleeve and reduced it's bulk. It has to be said, that mine was a Pike Brothers N-1 that is notorious for having extra wide and bulky sleeves. Don't know how necessary this would be on your RMC though. But if...
Thanks! I am really happy with it. First I thought how thin this thing is compared to my N-1s. But I was surprised how good it worked on a 34°F, rainy and drafty day out in the city last Saturday. I only had a thin merino baselayer and a light poly fleece underneath and was cosy warm even...
don't worry, the cuffs on the A-2 will be easily looking as good slightly folded up. I kept them as they are on mine so far. Could fold them up one time, though..
Mumpy, you reminded me that I wanted to show fit pics of my A-2. Here they are. Light is terrible over here in winter, so quality is bad. The function of the gusseted armpits is wonderful. Good for movability!
where do they end on your arms, at your wrists? Just asking, some like them a little longer, I like them just so covering my wrist watch. Just asking, because we have the sleeve length issue over on another thread, also with a RMC Khaki. Plus I am a data gatherer lately.
I know of course you knew that also but just wanted to make it more clear for others. So many small details and small changes throughout the contracs. For example I only recently learned the small detail with that little leather strap attached to the zipper pull on the first khaki pattern...
