Is it ok to negotiate and/or offer less than the listed price? What qualifies as a low ball offer?

Unscrupulous? Did the offeror hold a gun to your head? Did the offeror make material misrepresentations to you? If the offeror did nothing more than offer you well below your subjective opinion of market value, that is not, IMHO, unscrupulous. Rather, that is an offeror hoping to find an...

Is it ok to negotiate and/or offer less than the listed price? What qualifies as a low ball offer?

Perhaps a waste of three seconds reading the low offer, but why get offended? Why give the offeror so much power over your emotions? Your getting offended is the far more significant waste of time, as compared to the three seconds reading the low offer. Hit delete and move on to the next...

Is it ok to negotiate and/or offer less than the listed price? What qualifies as a low ball offer?

I just read a thread in the classified section wherein several members denounced the practice of offering to purchase a jacket for less than the listed price. Frankly, I was surprised by the disapproval. I have sold several jackets here on TFL and, in every instance, I received offers for less...

How many new jackets do you have coming (and how many potential ones)?

@tmitchell59 , you are cornering the market.

How many new jackets do you have coming (and how many potential ones)?

Beautiful jacket! My vote is no snaps or, if snaps are required, two hidden snaps so as to not interfere with the existing superbly clean look.

Thedi Deerskin "Hulk" jacket with Shearling Vest and Collar and shoulder bag

@Robbie79 , Gorgeous jacket. The deerskin is just spectacular. Congrats! My left arm is 1.5 inches longer than my right arm. To make matters worse, my left shoulder sits higher than my right shoulder. Therefore, on the majority of my jackets, one of the sleeves looks shorter than the other...

What Jacket Are You Wearing Today?

Not sacrilege at all. I wasn't going to say anything but, since you opened the door, IMHO the sleeves are way, WAY to wide in the bicep area. Given that you are already narrowing the upper sleeves, you might consider narrowing the shoulders and chest at the same time, while you are altering...

What Jacket Are You Wearing Today?

Agreed. I too am a big fan of RRL pre-distressed jeans. Really well made. Thats what I was wearing in my FCL post made yesterday.

What Jacket Are You Wearing Today?

I moved away from my long-standing leather tailor so, after some research, I took my FCL Tyler to a new tailor to narrow the sleeves from the forearm to the wrist. He did an excellent job! This is the way the sleeve should have been cut by FCL.

Waxed canvas ... how does it wear?

My favorite waxed canvas jacket is made by The West is Dead -- unfortunately, they went out of business: The blanket lining on this Rogue Territory waxed canvas jacket makes it very warm and functional: This RRL is a Belstaff repro:

    Freewheelers LaBrea

Thats a great way to obtain a more accurate set of measurements. I scour the internet, aggregate the various, often divergent measurements, and try to make heads or tails regarding which measurements are most accurate. Your method is much better and I may do this in the future. Thanks for the...

Waxed canvas ... how does it wear?

I own several waxed canvas jackets manufactured by Rogue Territory, The West is Dead, RRL, and American Giant. They are my goto jackets for rainwear and I love them. I do not find them uncomfortable nor producing excessive sweat. Certain synthetic fabrics may be more water repellant and/or...

    My Himel Experience (v2)

Thanks for the update @jeo . Thats great news! You are getting a new jacket AND your existing jacket is getting an appropriate, long term home (at the bottom of Lake Ontario). That's what I call a Win-Win.

    My Himel Experience (v2)

No. Six jackets purchased, four still owned, and no similar problems. Had I received a jacket similar to that received by Jeo, my head would have exploded. That said, I am more confrontational than Jeo and I respect Jeo's more amicable approach (I am trying mightily to be more amicable and...

    My Himel Experience (v2)

Fantastic, balanced, respectful discussion. Very cool! My very quick takes. 1. The flawed stitching on Jeo’s jacket is unacceptable and it never should have left Himel’s shop. Apparently Himel was out of the country and one of his employees failed to exercise the appropriate QC. On...
