Thanks! I really scrambled to get it. Maybe nobody else was going to grab it quickly, but I wasn't going to take the chance.
Thanks! Very excited to get it.
That Taubers is nice too, we were just continuing a conversation from a couple pages ago. I guess that's how these threads go sometimes. It does make things confusing.
Yeah I'm quite excited to get it. Might take a bit of time as the seller is at Inspiration Japan so they won't ship it for...
Thanks! This thread has gotten me several great jackets. Late 30s-mid 40s aviators are my favorite types of jackets and my favorite leather color is mid-light brown so this one could not be any better. Plus the design is absolutely beautiful and unique and the condition was a big selling point.
@AerGuitar very nice work! I was goong to ask what the jacket was because it fit you so nicely and then I scrolled down and saw that you actually made it! Very impressive.
A couple more recent fits:
Dark brown jacket is a 40s Windward and the light brown is a late 40s Sportclad
Thanks! I'm not sure. I wouldn't expect that as the hair has been treated. It could still happen though.
Yeah I'm a fan of them obviously. I'm excited to get it!
It does indeed. I've made too many mistakes with custom jackets.
It's mid brown Shinki horsehide and the fur panels are natural off white cowhide panels I supplied myself because I didn't want any brown speckles in the cow fur.
My most recent vintage wool jacket pickups. The burgundy one is dated to 1939 thanks to @jeo but I don't know the maker. The brown one is a Sears Hercules thanks to info from @tmitchell59 and I think it's from the early-mid 40s
This isn't wabi sabi. Especially in Fine Creek's case, they really try to make mismatched panels on purpose on some of their jackets. That purposeful mismatch is not wabi sabi at all. It's basically a weird marketing ploy. I personally dislike it quite a lot. While I own vintage jackets that...
My first "new" and custom jacket for quite some time. Just needs the buttons on it.
Should fit well. I had Himel make it very short like my J22, though not quite as tapered due to the different style of jacket.
