Dating Vintage Stetsons by size tag

I only thought of that later :\ the shop was closing it's not my size anyway but if it's worth something, I could sell it on the bay so that I can actually get a hat in my size.

Vintage Omega Super Lighter from WWII (?) anyone have info?

That would be awesome if so! I tried putting that in Google and wasn't able to find anything. I don't know if silk is a silk company or they were called silk? I couldn't find any information about this actually and only have the information I was given at the antique store but I don't know how...

FS: Borsalino vintage 6 7/8 beige / sand - excellent condition

I don't know your personal life, but I'm also Asian, and I've had my fair share of racism in my life and I know there has been increased racism, honestly everywhere but a lot Stateside (and it's not just media, I've seen stats, and I'm not talking about over-sensationalism but even straight up...

FS: Borsalino vintage 6 7/8 beige / sand - excellent condition

That's what I did once :) I never knew this service existed, another fedora lounge member suggested it. The only thing now is I'm very weary of going down South due to tensions and current government. They've been giving a lot of 5 year bans to Canadians (those that didn't have clear jobs and...

Where to get vintage watch fixed?

Unfortunately, he can't help me. I wrote to 2 other watchmakers in Canada, I'm really hoping someone in the world can help with this. His reply was: "Unfortunately this is not a repair that I can make on this model. Sorry that I can not help you on this occasion." I wonder why

Vintage Omega Super Lighter from WWII (?) anyone have info?

I stumbled upon this really cool lighter last time I was at an antique store in Ontario. I had to get it, it was so pretty. So I got new flint and put some fuel and we were good to go! The person at the shop told me it's likely from WWII and that they would give that to the new recruits in a...

Where to get vintage watch fixed?

I have this beautiful Vulcain watch I love to death, but my clumsy flaily arms have cause it to be banged around or dropped and I've had to fix it a couple of times, 200$ each time, oof. The watchmaker, one of the original time keepers of trains back in the day, I used to go to passed away last...

    Greeley Hat Works

I wanna come across a really great find. I found a Resistol 4x self conforming at an antique store recently in my size, but the brim ( a true western) was too long so even if I reshaped it wasn't my style and the felt didn't look great quality, looked very "wooly" so it just wasn't worth the...

    Greeley Hat Works

Good to know thanks for your input! I was wondering if the higher price point = better. Not always the case and photos never show the details clearly for hats

    Greeley Hat Works

I just stumbled upon this hatter http://greeleyhatworks.com/gallery.cfm They make really cool custom hats that are outside of what I've seen from typical hatters. Does anyone have experience with them or information to share? Their products range from traditional western to fedora to absolute...

    Tatton Baird Hatters

other than the thickness difference though, for me it's the tightness look and feel of the felt that make a difference for me. I don't want to see uneven patches nor feel it. I'm curious to know how the craftsmanship of Tatton is, because he's probably using Winchester

    Tatton Baird Hatters

    Tatton Baird Hatters

Do you have any Gannons? how does it compare to that one? Tatton seems to be a true hatter in the sense that he has the history and has a lottttt of the fancy tools which doesn't necessarily mean better, but could.

    Tatton Baird Hatters

that's why I abandoned with him, he didn't answer early on. Same with Hornskov although I wish I continued because he has that FESPA felt! My next one will be with Hornskov or likely, Hufvud who has been very easy to talk to and responsive.
