Hi, sorry for posting a few different threads today.
I'm curious about the Herbert Johnson Poet from this website.

Now, the hat on the website looks quite good, nice colour, nice crease etc. I'm wondering if that's what...
Yeah actually looking at the pictures, it looks like the whole crown is kind of sloped in that direction. I've done the best I can though, I enjoy wearing it now.
So I decided to take the plunge and bought a Fed 4 Deluxe in Moonstone as a dressier hat. Just wondered if anyone had any pictures of theirs that they could share so I can see how it will look. Thanks a lot.
So I thought I'd post a few follow up photos. I tweeked the dent on on the non-bow side a little bit, which removed most of the taper. Basically I lowered it about half and inch. I can't get it perfectly boxy, but I think that's to do with the shape of the hat, so I'm guessing this is about...
Ok, but I'm wondering why does it look fairly boxy on one side but not the other? I thought that it would have the same open crown shape all around, so applying the same dent should achieve the same effect surely?
Hi guys,
I'm not going for sort of super 100% screen accurate. My hat is a David Morgan Akubra Adventurer, size 60. I just wanted it to look a bit squarer at the top. Btw, I have seen John Penman's video multiple times.
I'm really just using Indy's hat as a guide, but I really like the...
So I spent a little time just adjusting the bash on my hat to get it a little bit closer to looking like Indy's hat. The problem I've got is that while the right hand side of the hat looks pretty much perfect, the left hand side appears to have a very slight taper and this kind of "dome" shaped...
Yes, but I'm looking for that style of fedora, and a good one. For example, would a Stetson do the job?
The detective is just to give an idea, but it's what a typical American gentleman would have worn with a suit, that kind of Fedora.
Yeah, that's what I was thinking. My hat has a kind of "domed" look to it, but his is more "boxed" if that makes sense.
I was thinking about buying a Fed 4 Deluxe at some point too, just to have a bit of variety. I think it also has that kind of "boxier" shaped crown.
Thanks guys. What I'm curious to know is though, how does Indiana Jones get that kind of "mushrooming effect" on his hat? The reason I ask is because the top of my hat, the flat part when you look up at it, is smaller than his. So his crown looks a lot straighter than mine.
So here's my hat after a rebash. I decided to do the full Raiders bash, including the turn. The bash I had in it before the ribbon was too far back and I didn't like it, so I wanted to be able to see the ribbon more from the front. Let me know what you guys think.
Ok, so I've sprayed the hat till it's completely wet, well the crown anyway, so you're saying that when it dries it will lose the "memory" of the old creases?
