New Limited Edition Trojan from LW

Presenting the new crown jewel of my collection, the Limited Edition Trojan from Lost Worlds. The Trojan has always been one of my favorite designs, and I've lusted for this beauty from the moment it appeared on the LW webpage, LOL.

Pics of my new Lost Worlds Suburban

:eusa_clap Bravo Zulu, Sir! Very nice indeed... I love the combination of goatskin and the mouton collar (inspired by the Naval G1, perhaps?) Regardless of how you came to the idea, the combination is both distinctive and appealing on a civilian jacket like the Suburban. Great idea, and...

    Deerskin Leather Jackets, Anyone?

I throw in my 2 cents here, because I have a couple of deersking MC jackets that are great for summer riding. One is from Johnson Leathers in San Francisco ( http://www.johnsonleather.com/ ) and the other is from Uber Tanning ( http://uberleather.com/mens_jackets.html ). Johnson Leather is great...

    Thanksgiving Day 2010

Mr. Peacoat certainly has the right idea, but it is a point... perhaps this should be cross-posted to the Hats forum... the Pilgrims definitely had a distinctive and classic look in the hat department ;):D (As for the Indians, well... feathers are just sooooooo 17th century, and I don't want to...

    Concerning those hardcore jackets

Yes, this is the brown. I tweaked the color in Photoshop just a little until it looked true-to-life on my computer, but the fact is, most computer monitors (including mine, most likely) are significantly out of calibration. By adjusting the color for my monitor, it is entirely possible I turned...

    Concerning those hardcore jackets

Don't let me put you off on an idea you really like; I was just stating my preferences. Letting your imagination run wild is not always a bad thing.... Anyway, here are the oft-promised photos, and these are much better. Good light makes all the difference (I'm no expert at Photoshop, but I am...

    Concerning those hardcore jackets

I'll try to get some shots tomorrow morning in good light, and try to include some close-ups of the front. The wind flap is pretty thick and actually protrudes a bit. It may not be as streamlined in appearance as you're imagining, so I'll try to get some shots and angles to give you a better...

    Concerning those hardcore jackets

Alas, I must compound my indiscretion by posting photos of rather low quality. Full redemption must await the weekend, when the light shall shine round about me (and the HG-5), and the glory shall be made manifest. Meanwhile, these scant details must suffice:

    Concerning those hardcore jackets

I have often suspected that the real problem is simply the shortage of virgins required to lure and capture the beasts. Unicorns, after all, are not hunted nearly as zealously or relentlessly. (I also suspect unicorns run faster in their attempt to escape.) OK, enough of this (though it is...

    Concerning those hardcore jackets

I do NOT have too many jackets! I just have too few closets.

    Concerning those hardcore jackets

Actually, I do own an HG-5 (in brown), and I love it. I had some photos once, but I seem to have deleted them. I can take some more shots and post them this weekend, if you like. Or possibly tomorrow evening... not enough daylight left today, and photos with built-in flash just isn't fair to...

    Concerning those hardcore jackets

Yep, I have a couple deerskin jackets for summer use (supple, lightweight, and light color to beat the heat), and it's great stuff. I recently asked Stu at LW about the possibility of a deerskin jacket, and unfortunately, they do not currently have a source... nor do they expect to get one...

    Lost Worlds Ryder: Just Arrived!

Very nice! The fit actually looks quite good for an OTR jacket, and the Ryder really does have a nice, clean look to it. The hunchback (or "bubble") should take care of itself with a bit of break-in... just wear the jacket as much as possible, and don't coddle it. Congrats on a great deal!

    Aero Steerhide Motorcycle Jacket

Very nice, indeed, and a great bargain! I rather like the watch pocket... I've found the chest pockets on jackets like this to be almost useless, but a small snap-close pocket low enough to reach can be really handy. I suspect you're right about the motive for buckle placement, especially since...

LW J23 I got off eBay

I really don't mind the belt loops... they're a great place to hook my thumbs when I'm hangin' on the corner, being cool... ;) Oddly enough, the original Bucos were sold with belt loops, but without a belt... the owners had to provide a belt from whatever source they chose. The "belts...

LW J23 I got off eBay

I will agree that some belted jackets have a nice look... but for me anyway, they're just not very practical. And just for the record, my only association with LW is as a customer. Yeah, I know you were kidding, Coffee, but I thought I'd throw that in here, just for anyone wondering. And so...

LW J23 I got off eBay

We must have looked at different ads, or perhaps the ad was updated, because the ad I purchased from quoted exact measuments (definitely not guesstimate, I just rechecked the ad). Anyway, the shoulder measurement (at the top, from end-of-epaulet to end-of-epaulet) is 18.0 inches. Sleeve length...

LW J23 I got off eBay

It was listed for auction, but also with a "Buy Now" price of $800US. I paid the Buy Now price, because I was pretty sure it wouldn't last long. There was a torn seam on the detachable wool collar, but that was easily repaired for $10 (already done in the photos). I'll post requested...

LW J23 I got off eBay

Unfortunately, the scratches it would leave on the fuel tank are far more unattractive. And I've always thought a belt would just be annoying on a jacket, anyway, so I never use them. I avoid jacket designs with sewn-in belts for the same reasons, but some people clearly prefer belts... <shrug>

LW J23 I got off eBay

I picked up an "almost new" Lost Worlds J23 last weekend and thought I would share some photos. It's very unlikely I will ever use the belt, but it was sold as part off the jacket, so I included it in a couple of shots for anyone interested. A few detail shots of collar, pocket, sleeves...
