Very nice, I have been browsing on eBay for a nice (r) hat that I have (Dobbs grey early 70's), and have noted some that I like, but the ribbons are not my style. I may get one, and try a ribbon replacement like what you have done,

Yeah, I might just wait. My size is 7 3/8, and I am looking for a nice vintage hat in a darker brown shade, and found this porkpie hat that was in very nice condition, and from the era that I wanted. I will wait and see what price it goes for. Who knows, maybe a porkpie will look Ok on me...

I was wondering if a hat the is formed to a porkpie crease can be steamed out and re-formed to a teardrop? I have my eye on a hat, but it has a pretty solid porkpie crease,

Well...I have always wanted a few good quality hats, but have never considered buying used. But I picked up a great quality suit (high rise holywood style) dating from the late 40's off of eBay, so I thought I would start looking for hats.
I will see if I like this hat when it arrives...
