Has anyone in US or Europe ordered from Mushmans directly? They're order form is in Japanese and seems to be for Japan orders. I've emailed them about ordering but have not received a response.

Reviving an old post here. Is it worth trying to translate the website to place an order or better to email and do it that way?

I’ve played around with translating the website a little more and it seems doable, even though the address format is a bit wonky.

Are Mushman’s size tables very accurate? If the jacket doesn’t closely match the stated measurements, would that be grounds for a return?

When I bought mine in 2019, the shoulder measurement they listed was off. I suspect it was because they measure differently, probably measuring the shoulder from the front going over the collar. All the other measurements looked right so I took a chance and it paid off.

More recently I looked at the same jacket and the measurements were right. I haven’t looked at their site in a while and I was only looking at the rainbow country Hercules model in a size 34 so I can’t speak to other models.

Back when I ordered, he made it abundantly clear that there are no returns or exchanges. I don’t know if their return policy has changed, but since there are different ways to measure, I doubt it.

If you’re considering one of their jackets I’d email them to be safe and ask if they’d be willing to send you pictures of how they measure.

Thanks! That’s what I was afraid of - their shoulder measurements like wider and better for me, which is probably due to their measuring technique. I tho k the website may even have a section on how they measure, which I’ll have to explore further.

I placed an order with Mushman for an RC G-1 leather jacket via DM on Instagram. The process was easy. The jacket is still in production, and I have been waiting for six months. It is not Mushman’s fault but rather RC’s delay in their production schedule. I still recommend buying from Mushman for their fast responses!

I didn't order from Mushmans directly, but I did acquire a jacket from them on the second-hand market. The shoulder, P2P, and sleeve length where within 0.25" of the posted dimensions on their web site, and the body length within 0.5". Given tolerances I would consider this to be acceptable. The jacket is a limited edition Rio Grande model from 2020.

How about McFly versus Mushman? Is one better than the other?

I ordered from McFly and did several inquiries with Mushmans. Both very helpful with the measurements cause usually they do not add up to the ones posted. I believe this is not due to their measurement techniques but that they post specification measurements for the jackets but during production because of them being made by hand it might accidentally be up to 0,5 - 1 cm difference due to cut. They both were very helpful sending pictures of how they measure with the tape. Also what I found is that they perceive chest measurement wider than it would be in my opinion: like from seam to seam even when the seam is almost on the sleeve and jacket is spread wide. The same actually was with Mirror Ball and Barnstormer. Maybe this has to do smth with local shop
Another thing about them is that both Mushmans and McFly do not undervalue the orders (at least that were my cases) but mirror ball is more helpful with this. Do not know about Barnstormer.
