Um, has anyone seen a Margarita in the last decade??

I had a blood-orange Margarita while on vacation in Tennessee in November. It was delicious!

That does look good.
I do like a margarita, on occasion. I like mine “on the rocks” in a plain old tumbler. My wife likes hers with Li Hing Mui powder on the rim (it’s a Hawaiian thing), but I prefer plain old salt, please. The perfect margarita is not too sweet and tastes like the ocean with a little lime squeezed in. Perfect after a day at the beach.

Place one lemon, one lime on the counter, next to a glass of orange juice and bottle of angusturo bitters. Pour 2 oz of JW Green label, add a sliver of ice and walk away leaving all the other crap on the counter top.

Yes, I saw one yesterday

I prefer it without a salt rim. I just add a pinch of salt into the shaker.

The margarita was followed by some tacos with red mole sauce.

Long Island Ice Tea for me !

A couple of years back, Long Island Tea came up on a crossword. I had never heard of Long Island Tea so I asked The Lounge, adding, "Where's the tea." I tell you, I learned more about prohibition and recent American history than I could have done by spending a week in a reference library. If I could remember the thread I would post a link to it. The Long Island Tea has addled my brain.

I went through a Long Island Ice Tea phase in the 80s. As a friend recently said about bacon: “That’s a young man’s game.” (I’m using that quote about a lot of things these days.).

I second that opinion. It's the only one I ever stock myself, using it mostly for summer Daiquiris.

I went through a Long Island Ice Tea phase in the 80s. As a friend recently said about bacon: “That’s a young man’s game.” (I’m using that quote about a lot of things these days.).

I remember them as being a big '80s drinks too. I also remember many men and women being all but carried out of the bar after one too many as those things packed quite a punch. Women in particular seemed to like them, at least back then.

Maybe some of you know the popular Berlin longdrink "Futschi" ("kaput"). Just Brandy and Coca Cola.

The mix is often mentioned with Brandy-Cola 8:2, which makes of course a lot of sense.

But I would vote for good old Gin Tonic.

In the winter months my usual before dinner drink is the martini. Gin, preferably something old school, juniper forward, pretty dry with a twist.

When it gets too hot for straight up boozy drinks, my go to drink would be either a ti punch or a daiquiri, a simple lime one or a pappa doble version.

Pineapple juice + water 1:1

Not my signature cocktail but I recently shared a shaker of Whisky Sours with a friend and they were really good. No egg white and with this classic drink I like the good old fashioned bright red maraschino cherries. Luxardo cherries are actually better--and I use them in Manhattans--but this old school drink calls for old school garnish. Bulleit rye, for what it is worth.

Martini. But even then the glass it comes in is a bit flouncy. But if i had to choose something it would be that. i like them, but stick it in a different glass

They were pretty popular when I was in college (during the eighties) because they were often part of some special like: purchase one Alabama Slammer and get one Long Island Ice Tea for free. I was not necessarily a big fan of then, but I did like the free thing.
