I haven't tried it but I hear good things about Buffalo Trace Bourbon as well.
Anyone have any comments?

Copper said:I will warn you up front that it is not faint of wallet, but here goes - there is a liquor store that specialises in whisky and wine here in Calgary that apparently purchased a whole cask of 28 year Auchentoshan and paid to have it bottled. I will send you the link to the store if you like and they might be able to ship you a bottle. It is significant enough to them that if you buy a bottle, you get your name on a plaque that commemorates the bottling. They only got 156 bottles from the hogshead, and I think around half remain.
Here is the link to the whisky itself and here is the store's main site.
If you are interested in a bottle and cannot get them to ship to you, I might be able to help you out a bit.
If you do get a bottle, tell them that the owner of bottle #71 recommended it!

I can hear the groans but a man has to start somewhere.

Enjoy!
