But tell me one thing, please.

What exactly is that "90s dance hall"-thing, some 45+ folks always referring to and seemingly like to do everything to go back and do again??

Was it just the time, before W.W.W. finally took over? Or did some meet their later wifes in dance clubs? Or things like that?
Or was it daytime disco?

I'm happy, that LR44 button cells are still available! For my Pentax ME Super.

A little wonder, I would say. Where do you use LR44 button cells, except on small pocket flashlights, these days??

The doctors look so young. Yesterday I went to a dermatology practice for a skin biopsy. As my ancestors all came from northern Europe and seeing as how I grew up in the 1950's and 1960's when sun protection wasn't so widely practiced, this was not my first experience.

When "the doctor" came to the examining room, she looked like she could have come fresh from high school cheerleading practice.

Remember pain salve/rheuma salve with terpentine oil? I got a fresh storebrand tube right now, because I wanted to try this old-fashioned thing.
Right now I can say, that it gives a nice, warming, kind of relaxing feeling.

You should worry, my brother's daughter, my niece, qualified in medicine and is now a doctor working in general practice. It seems like only yesterday I was carrying her around on my shoulders.

I’m a fairly heavy user of the health care system. It’s certainly not hypochondria; I’d rather not be in this position.

My family practice guy is a year older than me, and my gastroenterologist has a couple-three years on me, but all the other physicians, not to mention the nurses and technicians and all, are at least a decade younger and most are more like 30-plus years younger.

There’s lots to be said for several decades of experience. I’m unlikely to present anything to the old hands they haven’t seen at least a few times before. But there’s lots to be said for more recent training and relatively young brains, too. I know from my own example that we “retirement age” people aren’t generally as quick as we used to be. We more often miss the little detail we wouldn’t have overlooked in our younger days.

I respect and admire my electrophysiologist. He’s maybe 40. He’s sharp, he’s pleasant, he’s well-respected among his colleagues. He’s widely published in the professional journals. He’s about as good as they get. Still, I’m happy than whenever I undergo a procedure that there are other people in the room keeping their eyes on proceedings as well.
