I only like the skin. I eat the skin and throw the pudding away. Once I tried to make pudding that was all skin by pouring it out on a cookie sheet, but that doesn't work.
I have no idea what y'all are talking about. Pudding skins? Pudding lasts long enough in your homes to form a skin?

It's some sort of weird food-science thing that happens with Jell-O/Royal/My-T-Fine type boxed pudding mix -- a thick, dense skin that forms on top of the pudding as it coagulates in the bowl. Very intensely flavorful.

It's almost as good as the thick rubbery disk that forms in the bottom of a big bowl of Jell-O itself. Gooooood eatin'.

Maybe you're joking, or maybe your only experience with pudding (for our British members, don't confuse American pudding with what you call "pudding" and we call "desert") is with instant pudding mix, then it's not surprising if you don't know about pudding skins. These form from the egg yolk proteins when they float to the surface as the cooked concoction cools.
Please excuse if you were joking and I didn't get that.

Half joke playing on the differences between American pudding and that bread stuff Brits call pudding. When I make chocolate pudding (USA) it rarely lasts more than an evening. I try to make an extra one and hide it but the goblins seem to find it. I even hid some in a sour cream tub and they found it!

The recipe I use doesn't form skins but I make it a hour or so before I start on dinner so it may not have time to form one.

Remember Bungalow resorts, where you had NO toilet in your bungalow and you had to walk (uphill) to central "pit latrine" XXL barrack, where 30 or even more people could poop at the same time?

And some wonder, why people in 1988/1989 were so sporty trim?? You also had to collect water with your canister at any central pipe. :)
And who needs pissoir? Piss trough did the job... ;)

You know that you're getting old when nothing shocks you anymore. What a sad indictment of humanity.
There is pessimisim in your voice so turn the shamrock towards the sun lad and reveal in all the corresponding
good found humanity. Sure Lucifer is loosed sin upon this earth but so too angels and saints.
And all the angelic deviltry I vouch are Aldershot with the Para Regiment.

You are right, I have been feeling a tad maudlin of late. But I am looking forward to going to the Twinwood festival this coming weekend. I tell you I know that I am getting old when I shun the satnav and check the route on my road map. You might not think that's a getting old definition. No?

My road map is peppered with tiny little X's, each of which marks a spot where there's a toilet!

Sounds like ''piss poor prior planning'' old boy. Have fun and consider your musical blessings.
Do you dance? I favour Big Band era music but never a rug cutter. No talent for it. Enjoy!

Here's one I just realised this week that I do.

The hall lightswitch in my flat is at the front door, our bedroom is at the opposite end on an L-shaped corridor. Rather than double back on myself, I typically use my phone to light my way to the bedroom after putting out the hall light. Funny thing, though. My smartphone, and every phone handset I've had for well over a decade now, has a built in torch feature. However, I've caught myself unconsciously using not the torch feature, but the light of the screen, just like back in the day before they all had a torch feature....

I am coaching my young grand nephews as they prepare for Fall baseball season. Pitched 90 minutes of batting practice for them yesterday, something I used to do 3-4 times a week when I was a full time coach but 20 years has lapsed since then, and today I am having trouble walking. My leg muscles are in full rebellion.

That's known as brain and body having a conflict of interests.
