Yes, spring is here but where to find tweed or flannel pants?

The FL has me thinking of fall. Several years ago I had a pair of grey flannel pants that were heavy but comfortable. Seems like most pants today are made for going from the house to the heated garage, to the heated car with heated seats to the office garage and then to the office.

I would like to find a source for really nice pants, in heavy flannel, tweed and harringbone. Suggestions?

You could say that about most clothing today!

That's one of the reasons why I gave up driving, and why I can't wait to give up the office! (Retirement in seven months and counting... I may never go indoors again )

For the past couple of weeks I've been daydreaming about walking out of the office and over a hill. At the moment, the hill I have in mind is Fountains Fell, near Malham, which I enjoyed wandering around last year. I must get out this weekend... and stay out!

Too many of the cloths made today are more about appearance than substance. One of the things I enjoy most about this website is the resources to great cloths and a lifestyle that harkens back to a time that at least seems a little more romantic.

I also wanted to ask about the trowsers sold by Magnoli. They appear to be substantial in terms of material and very well made. I am not sure if their vintage style is too extreme though.

I am lucky to have a great job. I converted an old garage at the back of our lot into an office with an old roll-top desk, and an old leather couch and chair. Everymorning my dogs and I "go to work" by walking out the back door and into my office. I travel just enough to make things interesting yet I have breakfast and dinner with my family pretty much every night. Even before the economy tanked, I considered myself to be a very lucky man.

Thanks for your kind words.They are strictly individually made to order.We have genuine Fox Bros Flannel with 5% cashmere which are £134.99 or £109.99 for worsted wool flannel feel cloth by Harrisons of Edinburgh, they are a classic average cut, not baggy/not slim, but you could specify the width for an extra charge of £15. You could go all the way and have your very own pattern for £70 which we would keep for you to call on when required.
