My old 44 LL Bean Flying Tigers A-2 has rotted-through at the back of the collar. Hair oil, no doubt, did the damage. I want to replace the collar; I have the skills and an appropriate sewing machine, but I need the leather. Ideally, someone out there has a broken-down goat A-2 that the collar could be harvested from to donate to the cause. I realize that LL Bean is a low status brand, but I've worn it for 20+ years , enjoy it, and have more of an attachment to it than I might have from a new, expensive jacket - at least for awhile. So I'd like to fix it.
This is my first effort at the classifieds. I have seen references here to "send a PM" but I have not figured out how to do that. If you are able to help with either the leather or the technical problem I have with FL forum communicating, I would sure appreciate it.

If you click on my name on the left my profile pops up in the middle of the screen, with multiple options to click on: Profile page, Start a Conversation, Follow, Ignore. Click on start a conversation to engage in conversation with the person. Alternatively, you have an inbox on the top right corner of this forum, if you click on that you can either read old conversations or start a new one.

Regarding your jacket; I'd send it to Alan @ Johnson Leathers SF and have him fix it.
