There seems to be a significant number of people who are infected, remain asymptomatic, or have minor symptoms like a flu or cold.

Your thoughts and observations are well thought out and clearly presented, but don't be duped by the pharmaceutical companies who put out claims that their products relieve you from the symptoms of colds and flu.

Flu is a killer, it's not a minor ailment, the Spanish flu pandemic of 1918 claimed 50 million lives. How influenza became flu and then somehow relegated to nothing more than a heavy cold is testimony of clever advertising.

You hit the nail right on the head when you said:

The common cold is a corona virus and that's been with us forever and a day, yet there is still no know cure or vaccine. The problem that chemists have with a vaccine is that, covid 19, like all corona virus' mutates.

Seniors in the UK are always asked by their doctor if they have had their flu jab, but I'm somewhat sceptical of that. A vaccine comprises of dead virus cells, it makes you feel unwell but the idea is that your body will develop antibodies to the virus. That works with previously known killer diseases, but with a Corona Virus the fact that it mutates means science is always playing catch up.

Just got my internet connection back about a half hour ago. So I may have to post a hat picture tomorrow, if the connection still works. Ha ha. had a bit of a blow here for sure, worse 20 miles north.

Good to see you posting Michael. We were wondering how the derecho affected you.

Good to be back. Not much damage for me, a few medium branches down in the yard and part of the fence. Blew down a huge ash tree across the street and that crushed a small shed. Down the block it broke off a big tree that fell across the 17000 volt power lines and caught on fire. That then sagged down and toasted the internet line to me, which was further down the same poles. Cedar Rapids really got blasted.

What a generous compliment. I have actually been working. Normally I do just two shifts a week, but the fellow that I job share with has some issues, I should say, it's his wife who has some anxiety problems. He's been off work to support her.

Oh things are well alright. Did I ever mention that we have a flatulent cat? She might be in the garden, scraping a hole to do the necessary, it's easy to tell if she's taking a leak or doing something more ambitious. If it's the latter you will hear: Fart, Fart, I've heard her do it but my missus always tells me when Lulu's 'been.' It's what my missus says afterwards that cracks me up. "That cat farts so loud," she will say, "I hope the neighbours don't think it's me."

I was looking through the Tatton Baird thread and realized I hadn’t seen Ken @Wyldkarma around recently. Has anyone heard from him lately? I like his style and his backyard photos are great. Hoping he’s alright.
