I didn't get the Covid but sometimes my mind just goes black.

I had Covid and recovered except for the foggy brain syndrome. I still drift off and think of Stetson 100s, Gannon fedoras, Mike Miller wide brim westerns, and all manner of other new and vintage hats. Anyone else exhibiting those symptoms?

Well then, it's a good thing you have such a nice bowler to help keep your head war hatm.
Agreed, but it's the less formal, open neck shirt that compliments the bowler hat, that makes it just so. Worn with a pin stripe suit, white shirt, spearpoint collar, of course, You might think that it was a civil servant.

We had extreme heat during the end of June with unheard of high temps to 116-118°F. Last report shows 95 dead from the heat and that list doesn't include my neighbor down the street who died on Monday, June 28th, the hottest day of the heat and 116°F here.

Our little portable a/c unit can't keep up much past 85° so we reserved a hotel room for a couple days during the hottest temps, June 27th and 28th. I ordered a 2nd a/c unit, a window install, which arrived Friday and I installed it yesterday (Saturday). That takes care of the bedroom. If I see a 14,000-16,000 BTU window or portable unit for sale I'll snag that for the front room.

Happy Independence Day to all you USA gents.

I can’t recall seeing @Michael A around recently. Have I been missing him? I always enjoy his posts.
Brent, Michael A's Flickr account is active with his most recent post yesterday. I seem to recall that in a post a few months ago that he was focusing on more nature photography. He may just be taking a break from hats for a while or just busy with other projects. I tend to be much busier this time of year and post far less in the summer than I do during the winter.

Anyone heard from Doug @Tukwila recently?

Wasn’t it him that got banned after an expletive laden post…something relating to Covid vaccinations.
Apologies if I got the wrong person.

Yeah…his reaction came out of nowhere and was way over the top, but I only saw the public version. I’ve always gotten along with Doug, but I felt he was expecting to get banned and went ahead with a personal attack that was obscene and uncalled for. He’s selling a lot of felt hats on eBay right now. I sent him a message through eBay and he said he and his wife are moving to Florida and he won’t need many felt hats.

I wish him well, but he’s burned some bridges and I don’t think we’ll see him here again.

Just how I felt about it. Really out of nowhere.
