I can't speak for @Snowman, but I imagine it is the at the discretion of the seller, and possibly the ease of selling through the Lounge compared to the hassle of ebay. Some members will post here first to give loungers a chance at a better price. On TFL generally a deal is struck through PM, funds are exchanged through paypal or other similar platform and the hat is shipped.

While I believe that it is not uncommon on FL to offer dispensation to fellow Loungers, this was a case of posting on multiple platforms and forgetting to change all of them. I originally offered the hat here (as @DaveProc suggested) and later posted it on eBay. I have been treated well by fellow Loungers and will be glad to extend same to others.

Thanks for the replies. I am such a neophyte with all of this, the veterans must shake their heads in dismay. I am back buying hats after pausing for a couple of years. I now live in Seattle and need hats for the rain. This one was intriguing. I want to post something on the Lounge, but can't figure out how to post. Is there a secret code? Thanks again.

Hi, and thank you for the comforting words. I am not internet savvy. I want some information on what fedoras would be best in the Seattle rain. I do not like wearing the ubiquitous baseball caps. I thought this thread, "Ask A Question....." would be best, but I see no where to post something new. Thanks. PG

I tend to wear my Akubra Campdrafts and Federation IVs in the rain, they are almost indestructible.

Thanks, but the Akrubra's look a bit weird on me. I am very short, and large hats often look goofy on me.
