Women wearing an Aeroleather?

For my wife I would like to give her an Aeroleather jacket. Brown will look great on her, but cannot decide about which model. I know she don't like the classic motorcycle jackets. Maybe a bootlegger would fit her nice. Are there any women who are wearing Aero or similar brand jackets? Maybe some pics? Thanks! Oh yeah....it is a surpriseshhhhhhhh .

Thanks Ace and HD. Vanson does make some really nice jackets! But IMHO these are ment as motorcycle jackets. It does give some good ideas though. And yes, a bootlegger caught my mind as well. Normally womens' wear has the front "right over left". That shouldn't be too difficult to make I guess. Would love to see pictures of a woman wearing a bootlegger of any half-belt. Does anyone know a women wearing an Aero?[huh]

What a great gift! There have been discussions about Aero for women before. But I can't find them now. Maybe someone else can find such a link and post it in this thread. I don't know if pictures were eventually posted in connection with those earlier threads or not, but I too would love to see some pictures of Aeros made for women.

Hi, I have also been trying to decide on an aero for my girlfriend. I'm still early in the process to be honest (deciding what color, what type of leather etc etc). To be honest, I have been searching for a decent womens leather jacket maker for quite some time now.

I know of many well made mens leather jackets, but most do not make things specifically for women. Amanda from aero asked me to send sizing info for my girlfriend to get started. You may want to contact Amanda as well. I will keep you posted on my progress, but don't hold your breath. My girlfriend is slow to make decisions...

I felt obligated to get her a nice, well made leather jacket since I have so many of my own... Too many to be honest.

Thanks guys! I sure will contact Amanda. She's always of great help. The things is, I am not too worried about sizing (my wife is a petite- and I know all her sizes), but the most important factor is: what model? [huh] It is a surprise...shhhhhhhh
I would love to see a women wearing that bootlegger or halfbelt or any Aero!

I have to agree with the idea of a Bootlegger or half belt being best for a woman's figure. An A-1 or A-2 doesn't look right on someoone with a waist and hips IMHO.

The cinching at waist level pulling in the jacket to accentuate a woman's waist is perfect for me !! Goatskin in a russett colour would hit the spot.

Morning Gents.Funnily enough I've had this conversation with Will.My wife wanted an A2 but in the end,on Will's advice, went for an M422a..she liked the fur collar.. with a plain back(no half belt) as she's slightly built and cut on the japanese pattern that Jan Solo has talked about,in order to get a slimmer sleeve.
I got the impression that they make a few for women and he was coming up with the usual modifications to make it a bit more er...'woman friendly'.Talking to them is certainly the way forward.
Incidentally..this was ordered mid October and it's due this week apparently..we'll see.

I am considering getting a long jacket or short coat for my wife. I plan to start from the LHB and loose some details and add some others. The leather will most certainly be mid-weight HH and the lining Alpacca.

I have a certain look in mind that I saw a few years back, but I don't know yet, if I'll manage to get that kind of couture look out of an Aero design.
We'll see...

If Mark (Fishmoek) is about, he might have some useful suggestions - didn't he just recently post that he's making a jacket for his daughter, and modifying the pattern slightly for the female figure? He may well be able to give you some good pointers as to which designs to look at as a starting point...

My wife has a Banana Republic jacket which looks a lot like an Aero HG5 (Aero owners probably would disagree, but the cut is similar), a brown, waist length jacket with diagonal handwarmer pockets and little straps at the waist to adjust the fit.

It looks great on her, and appears to be very well made. If I could find the same jacket in my size, I'd wear it as well.

She wore her classic Excelled motorcycle jacket today, and told me she received many compliments on it. One guy said "That's what I want for Christmas" (I'm not absolutely sure he meant the jacket).

Thanks for all you input, guys! I will contact Amanda and ask her opinion about this. (I am sure she's wearing an Aero as well...?). I think that Bootlegger would be a good choice. Thanks, Andy

Women in leather

Check out any book about Amelia Earhart, or even google her for pictures. She wore short flight jackets and longer leather flying coats as well and always looked magnificent IMO.

Count me as another potential buyer for an Aero women's jacket. My wife want's a leather jacket and I hate to see her buy some cheaply made but overpriced "fashion" jacket.

She is interested in Aero but would like something a little more feminine than what's available. She is also skeptical that Aero can produce something that truly fits a woman. She's a costume designer so fit is very important to her. She feels that modifying a men's pattern for a woman is difficult to do correctly. As I'm writing this I'm wondering if I should try to connect her with Aero to make a design?!

The Aero 'Ace Cafe' "Ace" Jacket strikes me as something that would look great on a woman. I think its basically a slightly modified half belt. Correct?

If anyone has photos jackets or coats that Aero has produced for women please post them! Has anyone asked Aero if they have photos of woman's jackets?

As soon as I find pictures I will place them. I asked Amanda for info, maybe that will be helpful. And, yes, I won't buy my wife a "fashion leatherjacket"... I just want to go for an Aero...

1930 half belt slim fit for women

Amanda from Aero mailed just e-mailed me. In her (Aero's) opinion a 1930 half belt slim fit would be a very sweet jacket for a woman. She also mentioned that Aero doesn't have too many female customers. Let see if we can change that in the near future... Still no pictures...[huh].
