I can't believe some folks read so much into things. As Freud used to say, "Sometimes a hotdog is just a hotdog."
So he clung to a Mercedes radiator and pulled the piece off … I thought it was just dramatic effect; like the rest of the film - and I recall seeing it at the cinema and suddenly feeling like I was on an amazing roller coaster and no other film had ever felt like this to me before … and now so many do and feel so empty and it's drama for drama's sake.

I drive a Toyota and discussed this with my dealer's service manager. The Toyota view is that the recalls are a good thing. Transparent and open for customers. A product improvement. My car was subject to a recall but it was only attaching tags to the suspension that make a visual safety inspection easier.

I had always assumed that it was because of the war that German and Japanese engineers worked in fields other than weapons.

When I was younger, I tried not to buy anything from China. I had unwittingly joined the heritage products movement. Over the years it has proved impossible to avoid Chinese production. I think that is even more true today with our personal electronic devices.

Being that you're in Japan that must be a bit hard to do. Some years ago I was at a swap meet and came upon a VHS copy of Schindler's List which someone had recorded off of HBO on to a BASF videocassette. I noted the irony that BASF was one of the companies that made up the notorious I.G. Farben conglomerate.

Alright you guys, I wasnt going to mention the *Benz* thing as a Speilberg being Jewish and The whole nazi thing because I dont want to open that wound here plus that should be pretty well obvious.

The same Reason my Grandfather never bought Japanese Cars because of how Brutal they were during the war.

and I knew I would ruffle some people up a bit knocking on the Indy Look around this place, some of you need to thicken your hide a bit if you catch my Drift, I mean seriously its Just my own opinion and I dont need to rethink it.

Everytime I see an 8 year old going on 50+ wearing a Fedora and Poor imitation for an Indy Jacket I cant help but feel kinda sorry for the poor guy.

They usually need to Drive a really expensive sporty Car too.

Wow I thought the reception was basically pretty funny and tongue firmly planted in cheek. Any threats of "stake burning" were done in jest. Seriously man, nobody's huntin' your scalp simply because you don't like a particular movie series!

Okay, I can confess this here: I was in Utah quite recently and was casually strolling the shops in my black ELC Luftwaffe jacket, new blue jeans and black RM Williams boots. It was just nice to be wearing something other than my Irvin or B-3 for a change.
And in one shop (that sold leather goods), I saw an Indy hat - a cheap Fedora made in China. For three seasons, I'm always to be found in a ball cap - and in a B-2 in Winter (a winterized ball cap!) or a watch cap. That's it.
So I put the hat on - just as it was there and it was the first time I've ever put a Fedora on or even thought about one - and DAMN! I immediately thought that the hat looked great on me with the black jacket and boots. I had NO idea. And my second thought was "Oh no. Another vein of interest on the FL!". But suddenly I got it.
So no, I didn't buy it (I don't buy stuff made in China if it can be helped at all) and the first thing I did when I got back was to look up decent Fedoras and really enjoyed the Indy Gear site …!

Naw I love Fedoras guys, dont get me wrong, they are cool and handsome and slick slick cool.

I Just dont think people are Ready for that kind of thing in my stretch of pines, it really goes against the grain especially in a Small Redneck town where I live.

might be able to get away with it in the City, but not here...infact I believe you could get your ass kicked around here looking so classic clad in fine dapper.
