but what a mere company could do to survive world war if not to take order from the army? Toyota made trucks for imperial army, and mitsubishi made Zero, should they stand against the will of the nation during wartime?
Best not to wear Hugo Boss either !
How about pre-WWII? Ford. IBM. Bayer. Many U.S. companies did business with Germany right up to 1941. It gets complicated.
that is a great commitment, especially since both countries are the best car makers in the modern world
What, Germany and Japan?
Toyota recalled more cars in 2014 than it made, and has recalled more this year as well so far. The other 'big 3' Japanese companies are putting out record recalls too.
I'm going to sound like a nut, but I really do my best to not buy a thing from companies that supported the Axis.
Being that you're in Japan that must be a bit hard to do. Some years ago I was at a swap meet and came upon a VHS copy of Schindler's List which someone had recorded off of HBO on to a BASF videocassette. I noted the irony that BASF was one of the companies that made up the notorious I.G. Farben conglomerate.
