Good afternoon folks,

I'm eyeballing an older Resistol Stagecoach series Timber Creek hat that is "almost" my size, although I am not able to exam the hat first-hand. There are no tags to indicate composition and the seller is uncertain, but one of the impressions in the band claims the hat is "self-conforming". Does this mean it is wool, or can anyone tell me with relatively certain whether this is a wool or fur felt hat? I'm just not certain whether the term "self-conforming" is any indication of material or quality.

Thank you!

It is fur felt. Self conforming is a Resistol reference to the sweat band.

Thank you kindly, sir, I appreciate the information and the prompt reply! I learn something new here every day!
Stagecoachs are fun to work with. They are decent felt in western weight. Here is a before and after picture of mine.

First one I have seen. Fun finding the lesser known models. I like fuzzy hats!
This is a weird Stagecoach as I've never seen one before. It have some (if not a lot) moth damage.

Never seen a fuzzy Stagecoach. Sadly the paper tag is missing.
It's not as big and tall as other Stagecoach hats... brim is 3 3/4" and open crown does not reach 6".

Stagecoach, Cody. Original macrame band, feather, and Stagecoach pin. This is for my wife. After a recrease we will decide on the band. This is a thin band and may be left on it, with the pin. Concho or beaded bands are another option.
