As medieval knights couldn't seem to conquer and keep the Holy Land, in 1212 a precocious youngster from France named Stephen of Cloyes decided that maybe children could. Hey, if full-grown men with armor and swords couldn't do it, who better to dispatch the infidel Turks from Jerusalem than a rabble of defenseless, runny-nosed brats? Stephen managed to convince 15,000, or maybe 30,000, "of whom none were more than twelve years of age",

So you're saying that Oprah, Walgreens, Walmart and Coca Cola are more dangerous to the US than Saddam Hussein, Al Qaeda and Osama bin Laden?
Exactly. Here is what becomes of "ambitious" 7th graders..Doh! said:Moving in the other direction, here's another interesting thought...
What if the same kid had done his essay but replaced the names with:
Billy from Science class
Uncle Al
Mrs. Johnson, the "mean" next door neighbor
Would he be dismissed as a harmless "old soul"... or hauled in before the principal and/or police to prevent another Colombine?
BOSTON - The teenager accused of going on a rampage at a gay bar and later killing two people fatally shot himself in the head in a gunfight with Arkansas police, authorities said Tuesday.

But, keep in mind, this kid is in the 7th grade! At that age you are a whole lot of talk and think you have the world figured out. Not that I'm saying it should be dismissed, but rather that it should be determined by qualified professionals if there are underlying issueswith this angst ridden child. Leave it to the secret service to be totally lost and really screw the kid up.
Unfortunatley there are a lot that are "qualified" by their little peice of paper but have no business working with people. There are a lot of misdiagnoses. There aer still some good ones out there...somewhere.Section10 said:I have little faith in the secret service, but God save us from qualified professionals!

I never made any claims of the kid being harmless, I just wondered what could have got into him. That's all.

Is anyone here seriously defending the thoughts displayed by that 12 year old future murderer? I am rarely shocked by things but I think I read someone try to excuse this child's attitude, and am creeped out!
Any suggestion that it is more acceptable be the victim Thatcher, King George or Saddam Hussain is totally ridiculous! Keep in mind we are talking about a child here. Definitely not some "patriot". There are no 12 year old patriots, only brainwashed robots. As an aside, what are the chances of this child meeting up with some "enemy" for them to act out the parents hatred. All you are left with is a time bomb waiting to go off. Remember Columbine? Same deal here..
If anyone here is arguing otherwise, they probably do not have any children of their own. At least I hope they do not.. I would worry if they did. Children are sponges that absorb from their surroundings. Let us not avoid discussing irresponsible parenting by saying the child is a rebel or 'old soul'. A rebellious child is called a brat.
No parent worth a damn should want their child to speak that way about anyone.
