I updated my avatar after reading that the US government destroyed a series of "Let's Move" stamps because they showed kids engaging in dangerous activities such as doing a headstand without a helmet. How did people in the twentieth century ever survive?

Soon it'll be too dangerous to walk without walking sticks. But then the sticks might become weapons. So we might have to resort to wheelchairs.

What is dangerous about cannonballing into a pool?

Or doing a handstand without a helmet?

When I went to school we were encouraged to do these things to get out our wild energy. I highly doubt our teachers wanted us all to suffer horrific injury. I always though cannonballs were prohibited in many pools because they splashed people and it was rude.

I can kind of understand the not wearing knee pads while skateboarding one because I've seen some bad skateboarding accidents- but still- its a drawing! How do you know the kneepads aren't underneath the pants? The bad skateboarding accidents were normally the kids doing something stupid as far as tricks and were bad because the kids weren't wearing helmets. (Trying to go down a railing of a full flight of stairs with a bend and wall at the end without a helmet and knee pads is a bad idea.)

When humanity is nothing but a race of withered, waxy-yellow insect-like bodies wired into a virtual reality global supernet, nobody will have to worry about wearing helmets.

My avatar, for what its worth, is an image of me looking on with dismay and disapproval. As usual.

My current one is from a shopping expedition I led through the streets of Beverly Hills. Just a crowd of retro dressed people meandering through shops. I'm in front of Brooks Brothers there.

Unrelated, I recall a few years ago while walking to that Brooks Brothers on Rodeo Drive in the summer of 2010, I was in my 1950s "Havana" clothes; White linen buttoned shirt, pressed trousers with loafers, panama pork pie hat and a lit cigar. Someone stopped me and asked if I was their bus driver. I couldn't stop laughing.

Back to your usual programming.
