What's on your wishlist for Christmas this year? Or maybe next year...?

I have an Aero LHB on order (which should be ready for Christmas Amanda told me...).

For next year...maybe an Irvin or a Cheyenne or maybe that Bootlegger....

What do you all want from Santa?

While I would ideally love to get a nice new Aero LHB in FQHH this Christmas (brown, size 46L please Santa!), I'm betting on getting a lump of coal!

My June ordered Aero to show up before Xmas. [huh]

Week 20 and counting. Last Aero was received after 25 weeks.

Your problem guys is that you grew up without real existing socialism.
Those from the other end of the Iron Curtain were accustomed to wait years for a phone line or a Trabant. I even remember scenes of people queuing for bananas or oranges before Christmas.
At least this Aero will be of good quality.
Cheer up. All you have to do is wait -not to live in Socialism, ruled by Idols with Santa sized beards...[huh] :)

My wish list?

Gee, I'd like to have an Aero or Goodwear A-2, but inasmuch as it's likely to be a gift to myself I'd say a Cooper is more than likely to be the one that's in my price range.
Also I'd really like an Aero "Battle of Britain" Irvin, but as I have a WPG Irvin I'll make do with that for now.

Don't worry, our Senate is working on our own flavor of socialism as we speak (in the form of alleged healthcare reform)! lol

The only thing I ask of Aero is honesty in delivery estimates.

The first order was estimated at 8-12 weeks -- I got it in 25 weeks.

The second order was estimated 12-16 weeks -- I'm on week 20 now.

A little honesty goes a long way ....

I'm not laughing. Whether you support our tepid attempts to catch up
to the benefits enjoyed by the rest of the industrialized world or not,
it's hardly what the people of the Eastern Block had to suffer under
dictatorships and Soviet oppression. BTW, I do support the policy here
not to discuss politics, but felt this comment deserved response.

As for wish list, I am trying to let go of my desire to have a vintage
horsehide jacket, since it would have to be at least size 50 (vintage
sizes are sometimes smaller). But I'm not too particular... I'd take any
of quite a few Aero jackets, including Windward, Cossack, Half-Belt, etc...

However, I will take some time to recover from getting both a Good Wear
A-1 and a WPG Irvin this year. So many jackets, so little money...

As I say to my wife: With a AERO Pre-war Irvin and a ALC Irvin (which is still up for sale - by the way) and several A2's in the closet, I sure don't need any more jackets!!!!!!

(But a original pre-war Irvin would be nice);)

Hmmnn... I actually have a document on my pc somewhere, titled "Leather" which has a wishlist of both leather and non-leather jackets I would like to have.... These include:

  • Aero 30s halfbelt in black fqhh, with green check wool lining (same pattern as the Waterfront jacket)
  • Aero Cossack in brown fqhh
  • Aero King of the Road in black, with the epaulette tabs from the Elvis model, and an additional, horizontal opening, zippered breast pocket on the left hand side (the closest, to my eye, to some of the photos I've actually seen of Elvis on his Harley in 56). I'm still in two minds about the stud-fastening coin pocket, as Elvis doesn't seem to have one on his in the photos.... I don't think I'd miss it, either.....hmmnn.... maybe need to research more photos of original d-pocket jackets.
  • Aero Indian - again in black, though this time with the Blair Modern tartan lining. This jacket had edged out the Brando model in my affections now.
  • Aero Barnstormer in brown (either FQHH, or Vintage HH, maybe midweight... hard to decide on this one), in a custom cut with extra length (closer to knee length).

There are a few others I'd like, including an Eastman Irvin, and a Buzz Rickson B15-C, but it'll be some time before I pick any or all of those up. I'm pretty much set for the Winter now it's here, as whatever celestial being looks over eBay has been very kind to me in recently months and I have picked up a clutch of beautiful overcoats at very reasonable prices, including a couple of genuine 30s and 40s pieces (belted, polo coat style). Maybe in 2010 I'll be in position to look at a couple more leather jackets - most probably a Bootlegger first, then we'll see from there. I'm always open to genuine vintage pieces, but they don't crop up in my size so often.

I find this talk of "socialism" in this respect disturbing and disrespectful towards those that have suffered in socialist countries and those that still do. It is also rather ignorant, given the health care reform leads to a situation that is the norm for the past 100 years in countries like Germany. (Certainly not a socialist country, when you don't count the episode of the GDR). In an international forum, you should use more caution.

Leaving politics aside: I have been fortunate with delivery dates, Aero always delivered as promised so far. Good luck with getting your stuff soon!

On my wishlist: more time to wear the jackets I already have and probably the re-lining of my (much loved) HWYMan next summer.

If I had money, even though I have 3 good jackets, I would add any of the following to the collection.

Goodwear "Californian" Ventura
Aero 30s Halfbelt
Aero HG-5 (never seen one pictured here)
Type M422a

but I'll have to enjoy the ones that I have.
